“The V5 is a no frills golf watch. I previously owned a Garmin S62 which is a fantastic watch but the interface is lacking and who wants to pay for subscriptions. This is a budget-friendly, no-subscription golf GPS watch that also gives you meaningful shot-tracking data. One of the unsung hero features is that during a tracking round it displays the time on the watch face. That DIDNT happen on my S62. The only knock i have is that the buckle attaches seemingly backwards. I get that it has to do with the NFC/RFID of the connex tracking devices but it would have been PERFECT if they found a way to reverse that. That being said, the APP interface is great and very useful. Look forward to my future rounds with it !”

“It's not recording my shots as well as my V3. I almost went back to my V3 but last two rounds have been better it only missed about 3 shots and I haven't been able to get my putter sensor to screw onto my putter seems like the oydessy lab shafts have some sort of plug for weight in the top not allowing sensor to thread in . I contact glued it to my putter today will try tomorrow, but to be honest I can never remember to stand next to hole and record putting strokes after getting ball in the hole”

“The GPS part is great. Like the counting of steps. The tracking part is terrible. After 1st round I have to put the tag right by the watch. Have hard time uploading stats.”

“Picks up satelites quickly...does front, middle and back accurately...moves to next hole. Does a lot more that I dont use. I needed to replace an old dying golf watch...found the V5 to be a nice looking watch with my minimal requirements and capable of much more. The V5 is easy to read on a sunny day..but visability decreases with ambient light. A daytime only watch for my eighty year old eyes. It is a very good golf watch and does so much more than what I need.”

“The watch itself is a vast improvement over the old V3 I was replacing, faster satellite connection, with added bonus of hole view only downside of the watch is I seem to be having to press a lot of buttons to get to different features or even to move hole (if it doesn’t recognise for example a winter tee). That aside the watch is good but unfortunately despite the club tags being redesigned with a bit more curvature for a better fit around the end of the grips, I have still lost 2 tags that have broken off from my driver in 2 months - I won’t be buying any more - which makes me ask the question was I that bothered about the tracking (especially now with no driver data) or should I have just bought a G6?”

“I upgraded from a Garmin S12 to the V5 after some research and I am not dissapointed, the V5 has a lot more functionaliy and information on your wrist. It has taken a bit of time to learn some of the new screens and entering information on the course, it soon becomes a part of your playing routine. I would have liked the X5 for a bit more functionality and with the touchscreen but it was just out of reach (should have waited for Black Friday or ex demo) however Im am happy with my choise of the V5. Finally The data and information you can review post playing via the App or website is awsome and I am sure this will help my game moving forward.”
