“On opening the package, the quality seems quite good. The instruction video though was poorly filmed, the demonstrator's fingers were often blocking the details. But once all set up looked to be a good solution. However, the big disappointment is the Pi 5 itself. The folks at Raspberry Pi seem to have really messed up this PCIe business as far as connecting an NVMe SSD. I wanted to use this Pi for OpenMediaVault/NAS. I was using a WD Blue SN570 that I already had on hand. Then I saw on this site that that brand was probably not compatible. So then bought a Crucial P3. Still no luck.”

Pi5 8gb using standard issue/oem red and white case (oem rp case VS. Canakit case)
Included Stand offs can be used and fit but are not tall enough to get through the board inside the case but good enough to sit attached to bottom of oem case.
I was using my pi5 with Ubuntu on an industrial MicroSD card, purchased the standard red pi5 case. Made small cut in the case to allow the ribbon cable
to slide through and to the left of the MicroSD card hole in the case
to rest away from the micro sd card slot.
Booted raspberry pi os via MicroSD, ran the raspberry pi imager and it found the nvme drive immediately and flashed the Bootable Ubuntu for pi5 os to it.
Had to apply patches to Ubuntu a few times via sudo apt-get update, followed by upgrade and reboot but still no errors no issues.
