“I'm using this for Thread / Matter and so far the connection has been solid, decent range, easy to setup in homassistant (on a Pi 4) and no hardware issues. I'm in a fairly typical UK house and from a reasonably central position I'm getting pretty solid coverage through two brick walls and the exterior wall into my garage. The LEDs would be a pain used in a visible space but a sensible default behaviour coupled with the ability to switch solve that potential problem.”
“I setup the ZBT-2 with Home Assistant running in a Docker container, but everything worked surprisingly smoothly, including HA flashing the ZBT-2 with the Zigbee firmware. Bigger than I expected with a pulsing blue light when first connected to my server. Initialisation was straightforward in HA, just selected Zigbee (rather than Thread) and the correct firmware was installed onto the device.
My server is in a cupboard in the attic (2nd floor) and I was astonished to find I could pair a device (a Sonoff SNZB-01P) two floors down in the opposite corner of the house! I have since added a couple of other devices and it has been seamless. Would recommend to anyone needing a Zigbee adapter.”
