“The kit itself seems excellent. I ordered it on a Thursday evening and it arrived Saturday which was better than I was expecting.
I suspect like others I bought this to provide a Thread radio for a Home Assistant setup, after buying cheap Matter over Thread items from a certain Swedish emporium on a whim. The good news is this seems to work absolutely fine. Everything has been recognised and pairs and it seems stable.
However, it if you are running Home Assistant Core in a docker container, it is not a "plug and play" experience. I've needed to run two additional docker containers (Thread Border Router and Matter) and fiddle around with the network interface options on these to get it working as it should. I suspect it is _much_ easier if you have a different setup.
One other note - I've not yet (due to a lack of plugged in Thread/Matter devices) been able build much a mesh network and the range is not quite good enough to reliable coverage everywhere I need it. I'm hoping this will resolve itself when I add some more bits that plug in.”

“really depends on what you connect it to, turns out. my original home assistant setup running on a mac mini simply did not work, but switching to a raspberry pi running home assistant os over wifi works a treat. tested with the new ikea smart home stuff”
