“Arrived quickly and all OK. Plugged it in to Home Assistant running on a RasPi5, and it immediately found it. Relatively easy to set up (following the written instructions online) until it came to sending the Thread credentials to my android mobile phone. That took a bit of sorting as I couldn't find the Companion App/ Troubleshooting screen. It is there under "Need Help?" then "Sync Thread credentials". Sorted. Easy enough to add Matter devices after that.”

I was and still am using the one supplied in the box!
On the 2nd attempt it went further to updating adapter but first of all it displayed Migration process now complete then Zigbee firmware failed to install! Refer to log, even the log download failed.
On the 3rd attempt it did go through the whole routine, successfully migrating the old ZBT-1 adapter.
It was not an easy migration. I was expecting it to work 1st time, not having to take 3 attempts.

It does have a much further range than the zbt-1 as I can now get a signal to a smart plug in Daughters bedroom approx 12meters away through three 12” thick walls in our Bungalow. 2smart plugs permanently powered acting as routers but they are about 7&10m from ZBT-2 and 7 or 8m through 2 walls from target smart plug.
So really pleased with it now it’s set up.”
“I replaced an existing sonoff stick as it was not doing well keeping more distant devices connected.
The new ZBR-2 was eay to install and easy to set up. I configured it as a Zigbee controller and the devices all connected first time.
I did not use any migration as I was previously using zigbee2mqtt and wanted to switch to ZHA with this new setup.
The stick has been working for a week now without any devices dropping offline so a great addition to my home assistant infrastructure.”
“It could not have gone smoother. Simply plugged in the new ZBT-2, answered a few questions from HA, and HA did the rest. All my previously configured ZigBee devices were migrated successfully.
Also adding previously abandoned Aqara smoke detectors were done in a breeze with the new ZBT-2 with previously undetected entities now available.”
“Had to upgrade the firmware before it would be recognized by Raspberry pi running Home Assistant. After that worked just fine in Zigbee ZHA mode. Note you can only have one mode working at a time. Seems to have good range. Zigbee devices attached easily and some home made ESP32 zigbee sensors working fine. Also was at the best price around.”
