Another major bargain from mx5parts! Superb quality, 100% polished Stainless Steel, single exit exhaust for the Mk1. Made exclusively by us, for us, this great exhaust has 57mm main pipework and a 90mm dual sleeve exit pipe.Tested and confirmed BHP Gain of 4 - 5! (Also increased torque)Supplied complete with all gaskets and fixing bolts. Fits Mk1 1989>1996 (upto chassis number JMZ...308212) having either the 370 or 440mm cat (please check!). Looks like it should be £300.00 worth. Five year warranty!

“Ok, so here is my review. The single exit dual sleeved exhaust arrived promptly as per usual with MX5PARTS.The fitting of the exhaust was done at the Garage and they had to grind the bolts off. Thats on a 1995 car so make of that what you will.The exhaust generates a bit more heat than the stock exhaust so the cabin can get a little toasty if your sitting still a lot. You can feel it warming up the centre console or at least i think thats what it is :p Its not that bad though.This exhaust is loud. I would say it sounds as loud as a boy racer exhaust however its sounds so good its borderline ok. between idle and 3000rpm it is a very deep tone lessening slightly if you put your foot down in this rev range. from 3k rpm and up it is very quiet with moderate pressure on the pedal. If you gun it to the redline you are rewarded with a very powerful roar that suits the car in my opinion. cruising is a pleasure at 70 or 80 or even 90 (on a racetrack of course) ;) When the exhaust is cold (even after the engine is warm) if you floor it you will get a slight rasp at the higher rev range when flooring it this however is not there with moderate pressure or that is what i have found on my particular exhaust. Once it has warmed up the rasp goes away.Performance wise i have seen an increase in top end in all gears and torque seems to have increased in 3rd gear slightly around the 3-4k rpm range.All in all a very nice exhaust however steer clear if you are not looking for a loud exhaust i mean it is loud but it sounds good if you get my drift. It by no means "farts" like your regular boy racer model.”

“I was expecting a touch of the Nova-Maths with 4-5hp increase, but I think my 1.8 has changed performance dramatically on fitting this!As another reviewer said, makes just enough noise to sound good, but not so loud as to make you feel like a twat! pottering about below 2k and it's quiet as a mouse, give it the beans after 4k and wahey! but then, 70mph cruising doesn't drone unless you are on the power. I was about to take the hardtop off soon anyway, but now I'm driving around with the windows down just to drink in the soundtrack.Fitment is excellent, with a precautionary buttering with firegum of the gasket against the old cat, everything went together very sweetly. If only the old unit coming off had been 2-piece, I wouldn't even have had to remove the rear lower brace-bar!thanks MX5parts!”

“Excellent exhaust system that seems very well put together with quality TIG welding throughout and nicely polished too. Fitting took under an hour (i think my cat is only a few years old so probably helped as the nuts came right off without any dificulty)Fits very neatly, comes with all the gaskets and bolts.Sounds excellent and is supprisingly very quiet at idle and even when you really let it rip i would say its just right. most certainly not excessive, which i was a little worried about after reading some of the reviews but ive had far louder cars and bikes in the past. maybe this is because i still have a cat on my car (at the moment anyway) The only thing im not 100% happy with is the tailpipe design as it looks a bit like someone has just put a tip on a normal exhaust. I may have to "adapt" it so either the outer or the inner is removed. As usual very good service from MX5parts to cap it off, fast delivery and well packaged. (tip leave the bubble wrap on until you have the exhaust fitted then you wont scratch it during fitting)”

“Wow! Anyone 'thinking' of buying this exhaust? Well................do it! Perfect fit, excellent quality & fantastic value for money. Although the loudness is entirely subjective ( I have retained the cat at this point) I find it compliments the MX5 perfectly & makes the car sound as it should. A sports car. Excellent service from MX5 parts too.”

“The silencer and the pipe are very good manufactured. Perfect fitting, 15 min work. The problem is the noise, is too loud for everyday use, and in motorway the noise is louder, so I can't use the car for long distances. I went to my local exaust garage, they tell me that the silencer is probably empty inside. I uninstalled it and buy a new original one, handmade rear silencer for 220€. So pay attention, if you are searching for a race exaust buy this, but if you would like to replace your stock exaust, this can be very noiser.”

“WOW !!!The fit was perfect. I've bought standard exhausts that didn't fit this well ! The welds are nice (I've seen better, But not on a mass produced system). It looks like a very well made piece of kit.I was worried about the reports of them being loud, But since fitting it I've discovered that it's only a fraction louder than the standard exhaust it replaced at tick over. When you open up the throttle it does get a bit louder but it doesn't feel TOO loud.It now sounds sporty, But without making that "Tinny/Boomy" sound that seems to be so popular with the chavs in their Corsas.As it stands at the moment, I'm very happy with it.”
