Lovely looking style bar really sets off my mk 2.5 well. Tips for fitting. Take out all washers and spacers from the seatbelt tower and seat the bar in the gap left behind. The bar will sit flush with the plastic surround of the area and the two holes in the brackets will line up with the wind blocker studs. Discard the top screw on each side and use the two that come with the bar in their place. As others have said you will need two washers to tighten in as the provided screw heads are small and will go through the holes in the side brackets. The bottom two studs are reused in their original place as these are used for the tonneau cover to clip on to. Line everything up before putting in studs and seatbelt bolts. I mounted the two provided steel spaces on top of the metal area that is sitting flush with the plastic surround and also one washer that I originally removed on each side before putting the seatbelt bolts through and tightening down. The seatbelt swivel is still slightly too close to the bar to put on the covers as they slightly catch the bar and will not sit flush without a small alteration. My solution was to order two covers for the mk 1 mx5 and they clipped on perfectly to my mk 2.5 without touching the bar as they are a bit smaller but still clip on perfectly to my seatbelt swivel. Order two anyway as the old ones will likely break when you clip them off as they are very weak and the tabs will break. So hopefully this will help you to finish off the look of your bar as I like to have everything looking right and didn't like the look of the seatbelt swivel without the covers.

Style bar itself looks great now itÆs fitted. But, the seat belt holders no longer swivel enough and leads the belt getting snagged every time when putting it on or taking it back off. Any suggestions please?

Husband rolled the car at 100+mph and this bar saved his life. Don’t count on it to do the same for you but for just a style bar it’s STRONG

Fitted to Mk2.5 Montana. Firstly, discard the supplied windblocker. It looks nasty with the cheap velcro fastenings and detracts from the aesthetics of the style bar. Secondly, the instructions are in dire need of re-drafting. Please label each part supplied (a, b, c etc) alongside the parts that are already on the vehicle. Diagrams are not laid out logically in conjunction with reference text. Thirdly, the side fittings that marry up with the factory fitted windblocker assembly should come with a washer along with the screw to ensure a better fit. I had to use my own. I fitted the spacer supplied on top of the bar on the seatbelt pillar bolt assuming so that the plastic seatbelt covers could be re-attached. I'm not sure whether this is correct, but it works. Overall, assembly took around 90 minutes on my own and with a lot of faffing about with spacers. The final appearance is great, hence the four starts.

Delivery fast! Item great! But what I will say is no fit timing instructions and advise to cut plastics belt cover is wrong. When fitting remove Allah from underneath plastic seatbelt cover place style bar directly in its place then put wash back that where above plastic belt cover (the spacers not washers) then the seatbelt and then bolt back down. Perfect fit no cutting needed! Also the space they send with style bar do not use you do not need it.

Mixed review, 1st, when fitted, the bar looks fantastic, 5*. But fitting it is a bit of a faff, Instructions aren't great, and needed to pack out the sides with spacers and use washers + 2 bolts from my toolbox, The (free) perspex windstopper looks cheap and the Velcro attachments are poor quality, stitches on 1 came apart on 1st removal. And finally... on the day I get the email to say "item to be delivered today" I get an email to say they have been reduced to 99 quid (from the £157 I paid the day before) NOT impressed.Still super fast delivery, And it does look great, just be aware.
