The Typhoon™ Air Intake System is a free-flowing mandrel-bent aluminum tube induction system designed to provide cooler, denser air to the engine for increased performance. It is a direct replacement for the restrictive OE air box and the constrictive factory air filter and inlet tract. Using the most advanced airflow management technology, K&N has optimized the flow characteristics of the Typhoon Air Intake System to complement it's high-flow Filtercharger®.Thanks to the massive number of these filter kits that we have sold in the last year we have managed to re-negotiate our price with K&N and are very pleased to pass on the saving to our customers.Fits all Mazda MX5 Mk2 and 2.5 models, 1998>

Utterly brilliant! Took about three quarters of an hour to fit and MUCH better looking than the OE airbox. After a quck test drive and check under the bonnet to check everything was still connected, i went for a quick blast that ended up lasting the whole morning. The sound is fantastic, especially above 6000rpm. Would definatley reccommend this to anyone with an Mx-5, even if it is a little costly compared to other kits.

Purchased on friday afternoon, was disappointed that the delivery didn't come until Monday... but thats life i guess!was a doddle to install even for a novice like myself. cant say i ran into any problems! The sound of the intake is just brilliant. really gives the car a bit more of an aggressive sound to it. Performance increase is noticeable but slight. for the price it cannot be faulted. would really recommend this upgrade.

I've um'd and ah'd about this induction kit for ages and was finally tempted by the special offer price. Usual excellent delivery. Read the instructions twice and 40 mins later job done. What a revelation, throttle response is transformed and the car just wants to go. Lots of reviewers have commented on the sound it creates but I didn't buy it for the sound. HOWEVER, when I put foot to floor it just snarls and combined with the stainless exhaust I fitted a while back it is just a wonderfully, grin inducing experience. Thoroughly recommended.

Right, ok a fantastic product and fast delivery, roaring sounds, speed etc... BUT have any of you checked or rang your insurance company after fitting this!! My own experience today tells me you better!! I renewed my insurance with a different firm 2 days ago but thought I better tell them about this modification, oh dear they have cancelled as the underwriters will not accept, secondly tried another firm who wanted to know the increase in bhp and they too done a runner. Finally, thirdly I was eventually re insured with my original firm but they too had to cancel existing policy which was about to run out soon anyway and find another firm to accept modification!! BE AWARE!!! What a hassle!!

If like me you keep looking at this and think "should I, shouldn't I" then stop and just go for it. Firstly £160 is worth it. It's a quality part. It does what it says on the tin. Easy to fit. But most importantly you can feel the difference under your foot.

This is my second purchase of the Typhoon System. The first one was damaged when my old MX;5 was written off. Can't fault this as my new car seemed sluggish but now has the get up and go like the old one. Like many others I am not interested in the noise, just the power uptake that has increased.
