The Typhoon™ Air Intake System is a free-flowing mandrel-bent aluminum tube induction system designed to provide cooler, denser air to the engine for increased performance. It is a direct replacement for the restrictive OE air box and the constrictive factory air filter and inlet tract. “Easy to fit and the sound i really amazing.I been driving with this fit for over a year now and I'm really pleased. It looks good under the bonnet and the sound is what the mx-5 should have sound like stock.Not sure if it adds any power, didn't think it would, if you buy this it's because of the sound.”

“I love this! Easy to fit and sounds amazing...... Just dont buy it from here! Sorry Lads but £100 cheaper on e-bay......Shame on you!Editors Note: The reason you can find them cheaper on eBay is that K&N increased their prices quite dramatically at the start of this year. Any cheaper ones you find online will have been bought by the seller before this increase. At the time of writing this the retail price on K&N\'s website is £276.25 including vat.”

“purchased this for my mk2.5 1.8, doesn't make much difference to performance lower in the rev range but once you get up to the redline it lets it breathe much easier and sounds more like a sportscar shouldreally needs an additional support bracket nearer the filter. i've seen some designs on the mx5 owners forum which i might copy”

“Glad I invested in one of these, really easy to fit, (40 mins) and sounds awesome. This is supposed to slightly improve fuel efficiency, but I can't stop hard revving just to hear the sound. Stereo is now obsolete. Oh, and it improves throttle response too. Thanks guys.”

“Ordered at Spring Rally and arrived Tuesday, unfortunately I was still enjoying Cornwall until Friday, so it had to wait to be fitted this (27th) Sunday morning replacing a Pipercross system. My Wives car it is fitted on says sounds great, but a proper drive is needed to hear it in action!”

“I was at MX5 Parts having a new Mohair hood fitted to my 98 MX5. [See seperate review]On receiving my far smaller than anticipated bill, I purchased the Typhoon intake system.Fitting, including a heatshield , took about 50 minutes.I hadn,t thought about an heatshield but saw one fitted to the MX5 on the forecourt, and decided it was going to be beneficial.I haven,t had time to fully check the benefits, but throttle response is certainly noticeable, and "boy" is that exhaust note absolutely beautiful!!!I really don,t care if I get an extra couple of mpg, just listening to that exhaust is worth every penny.Must add that I am retired, but refuse to wear cloth cap!, but think the MX5 has to be the best car I,ve ever owned, and enhanced from all my purchases from this absolutely excellant Company.Chris Moore.”

“What can I say! As normal excellent delivery service correctly identifying the hour of delivery. Very easy fitting and makes the car breath even easier then the K&N filter that was in the original airbox previously.”
