“Just put this on my 2.5 Very easy job as there were two holes in bumper in exactly right place. Fixings supplied were fine and it's a snug fit. Looks great. Does not quite sit flush at sides but looks very smart.”

“The plinth itself was OK but the fasteners were useless. They looked just like the old one but they were made of a very brittle plastic that just shattered when I tried to secure them. Fortunately I had saved the old fasteners and was able to reuse them. Overall it's too expensive for what it is ... £10 to £12 would be more reasonable.”

“After market part by IL motorsport. Talking as an engineer the pattern maker should be sacked. Poor fit and the fixings went in the bin. If you can get a Mazda part do it.”

“Service from MX5parts.co.uk was excellent but the number plate plinth wasn't. Poor quality brittle plastic, badly finishes, roughly cut and plastic edging not flexible. Not up to the quality of the genuine Mazda original. I'm going to throw it away and buy the Mazda part. Very disappointed as previous purchases from MX5 parts have been great.”

“Yes it's true, it's an aftermarket piece. But could be of better quality.The material is weak. Plastic with a minimum touch ... breaks!The lateral cuts look like they are made with a razor (!)Very poor quality. The price is also something pulled.”

“Rubbish, spent half a day, cutting and shaping the thing, just to get the it to connect with the bumper. Massive gaps all around, didn't fit as the old one, leaving scuff marks exposed, fixing are rubbish too. Chucked it in the bin, stuck some tape on my old one and fired that back on. May get some helicopter tape and some new fixings and refurb the old one.”

“Just got done fitting this. I am happy enough with the quality of the product and the instructions, and marking out and fitting was easy enough. But I found the push fit connectors useless (too short?) and resorted to nuts and bolts instead to keep it on.One gripe is that it doesnt fit flush on one side, possible having the holes closer to the outside wouldve fixed this.Otherwise very pleased as I had no plinth before and the front end looks much tidier now. Thanks!”
