About Mooncup:

Mooncup began with a clear goal: to give people a healthier, sustainable way to manage their periods.

Back in 2002, we launched the world’s first medical-grade silicone menstrual cup, pioneering a movement that put health and the planet first. We saw an industry where profit came before people, ingredients were hidden, and plastics reigned, so we challenged the status quo.

Now, we're on a mission to become the world’s biggest sustainable period care brand. We’ve just launched Mooncup period pads into Sainsbury’s, Boots, Holland & Barrett and Look Fantastic. We’re also partnering with workplaces, gyms and hotels (like Canva, Danone, Third Space, Gymshark and Claridge’s) to offer free period care in bathrooms.

We use only science-backed, body-safe ingredients because your period products should work with your body, not against it.

I have been using the Mooncup for over half a year now. I only had minor complaints about pads ("diapered" feeling, leaks, rustling, noisy packets) and tampons (dry me out and the string is very unpleasant), but decided to try something new.Changing it is easy, and you definitely need space and privacy. It is the most 'graphic' to change out of all products, but the least noticeable (and the most comfortable) when used. If you're careful, watch your clothing for drips and have access to a sink, you shouldn't have ANY mess on your hands.Night time is when it's prone to leak a bit as it tends to crawl up overnight. I have had trouble removing it once or twice, but always managed to retrieve it without much fuss. There was NOTHING scary about those times, just an inconvenience. It doesn't seem to hold that much more than a super tampon, but I do have very heavy flow. You don't want to let it get too full, because squeezing it to remove might lead to drips/leaks. Otherwise, you can easily leave it in for 6-8 hours or longer, I haven't noticed any smell or colour changes. Once I've washed, sterilised and dried it, I keep it in its cute little pouch, in a box with my lotions and unopened soap bars and it acquires a nice, clean smell of soap.It is up to every woman to decide whether she wants to try the Mooncup out. It's not perfect by any means. Once in a rare while, I still use a pad or tampon, but the Mooncup is definitely my go-to product. There is nothing to fear about it :) I recommend it!

Well I was a little bit sceptical about using a cup to begin with, but I'd received a sample softcup from boots, and thought it would be worth a go to use a 'proper' menstrual cup. I initially preferred the softcup, but the truth is that menstrual cups are amazing. They take some getting used to (I don't know if I'll ever get used to that 'popping' feeling when they open, although, since I changed the folding method, that doesn't happen any more), but are well worth it, and the money saved will be incredible! =D This is my first ever menstrual cup and it arrived while I was still on my period, so I decided to try it (dry run? Naaaah!) and was pleasantly surprised. I definitely recommend it to anyone who's looking into it!

For ages now I have felt a bit depressed whenever I have my period due to tampons being so bloody uncomfortable and not altogether hygienic. It's also a faff having to make sure that you have enough and have the bags for disposal and then you get to the toilet and there's no bleedin' (no pun intended) bin! I have often looked at the sanitary protection available and thought "How Medieval. Can't someone come up with something better?"When I first heard about the mooncup, I admit that I thought that it was for dirty hippies. I thought it a disgusting idea and not one that I would want to try.Things changed however when I suddenly realised that when out hiking (something I aim to do every weekend), I would undoubtedly be caught short. I then remembered the mooncup and began to read all of the reviews. I was a little put off by the women who have had to go to A&E but they are in the minority. So I ordered one and gave it a go.I did have a bit of trouble with insertion at first and wasn't sure if it was in properly. I read some comments from other users who have mentioned how they ensure that the mooncup has formed a seal; it turned out that I had.One thing that I did find uncomfortable was the stem which I cut in half before using as I knew that it was definitely too long. I still found it uncomfortable and have now cut off the stem completely. This does make removal that little bit more difficult but I think that it is all about technique.I am so glad that I no longer have the usual worries when on holiday or on a long car journey etc. It is absolutely great that I can insert the mooncup and then forget about it for the rest of the day. It is a bit icky but you soon get used to it and the convenience of it far outweighs the ickiness.

Took me a few days to get the hang of it. My first attempt was quite scary, but again once I got used to the insertion/removal process it was very nice. It is comfortable to use and didn't have any problems. :) Overall really great will definitely keep using and recommend to others! Love that it's safer for me to use and is better for the environment!
