About Mooncup:

Mooncup began with a clear goal: to give people a healthier, sustainable way to manage their periods.

Back in 2002, we launched the world’s first medical-grade silicone menstrual cup, pioneering a movement that put health and the planet first. We saw an industry where profit came before people, ingredients were hidden, and plastics reigned, so we challenged the status quo.

Now, we're on a mission to become the world’s biggest sustainable period care brand. We’ve just launched Mooncup period pads into Sainsbury’s, Boots, Holland & Barrett and Look Fantastic. We’re also partnering with workplaces, gyms and hotels (like Canva, Danone, Third Space, Gymshark and Claridge’s) to offer free period care in bathrooms.

We use only science-backed, body-safe ingredients because your period products should work with your body, not against it.

Wow, can't believe I didn't switch to the cup sooner! This is my first cup and, while I appreciate the improvement compared to tampons and pads, I will try another brand. I am 32 and never gave birth, so I bought the smaller cup (B). It performed great, didn't leak (mind you, before, I had to use both tampon and pads in my heavy flow days) and I didn't feel it, it was as if I didn't have anything inside. I felt fresh for the first time in many years, without those annoying pads. However, despite trying different ways of folding (did a lot of research online), it hurts a bit when inserting it. But, most of all, it hurts quite a bit more when I take it out, the rim is too hard/inflexible. So, after looking around at the various alternatives, I will try another brand, with a more flexible structure.

This is pretty much the best thing ever. I'm so glad I bought it. After reading some of the reviews I was apprehensive about putting it in and removing it, but it went in easily first time and every time since, and it hasn't leaked at all. I hate tampons because I have a very heavy flow and I'm an extremely active person. I will often be in the dance studio teaching lessons (which all involved some element of flipping upside down) for more than 5 hours at a time. So tampons are a no-go - they just leak, which is really awkward when I'm teaching in hotpants. Pads are safer, but harder to hide and so much more uncomfortable. The Mooncup has been amazing - no leakage, no spillage, no discomfort. The hardest part about wearing it is remembering to empty it, because I forget it's in there! I didn't have to trim the stem either - I just make sure it's right up in there.I struggled a bit to get it out the first time, but giving it a gentle assist with the pelvic floor muscles got it out on the second attempt. If you're not sure about size (like, if you're early 30s and have never had a vaginal birth, for example, or if you know you have super strong pelvic floor muscles), definitely go with the smaller one.I love it - I'll never look back now I've got this!

First time EVER trying a menstrual cup-I have only tried it out on the last day of my period so far, but so far so good! I inserted it perfectly on the very first try so I was happy with it/myself. And it is honestly such a relief that I don't have to buy tampons ever again-which is amazing not only for me but for the planet! Apparently the average woman throws away 11,000 sanitary products in their lifetime-and that is for just ONE of us. And I'm not usually someone to gloat about being environmentally friendly but it honestly just feels like a weight being lifted from my shoulders. As a girl, I feel like you are only given two options: tampons and pads. And menstrual cups aren't even really ever considered but I wish more people would give them a try and suggest them to daughters and friends because they REALLY make a difference in waste (I found out even the applicator of a tampon is not recyclable recently). The munch itself is something that worked perfectly fine for me the first time I used it, it fits comfortably in my body and is easy to insert and remove (as long as you are familiar with your own body). I think it's a decent price for a menstrual cup and I have had no problems so far! I will update if I have any changes in this review i.e. in times of heavier flow, but I can honestly say I'm looking forward to my next period and getting to use it more!

Best invention for the ladies...ever! I first came across the mooncup whilst i was watching Kate Arnell talking about it and with toughts in my mind of adopting a zero waste lifestyle. I was a bit skeptical at first as wheter it will work so I decided to buy and try it. I got the B cup as I am under 30 with no children.. I must admit that application/ removal of the cup was the most frustrating bit but once I got hold of the techniques I can say that I wont be buying another pack of sanitary pads/ tampons in my life. So comfortable I sometimes used to forget that I am on my period. Can be changed after 8 hours eventhough I used to change it more frequently. Like every 4 hours or so (still a lot of time compared to pads/tampons). I between uses it is best to wash it with a soap free wash and make sure the holes at the rim are open. So far I havent experienced and leakages and i am to keep it that way Before storing for the following month, I like to keep a seperate small pan especially for the mooncup and use it to boil the cup for 5 minutes in some water with baking soda. I HIGHLY recommend to anyone looking for an enviormentally friendly yet comfortable approach to our time of the month. I speak highly of it wherever I go. Thanks Mooncup!

i have to say, i cant rate this product high enough. i had been on the implant for 3 years, with no period, so i when i had it taken out i wanted to try this out. yeah, its more expensive than your normal sanitary product but this on ANOTHER LEVEL. its so natural, and clean, and i cant believe id been throwing away all those pads and tampons before.the highlights for me are1. you can see how much you're bleeding and it becomes a fun game2. ZERO WASTE3. you can still sleep with no underwear on your period!!!!i am just in love with my mooncup. a platonic love of course. for now.p.s. some actual useful information: you can change it every time you go to the toilet, for me it easily comes out by squeezing the bottom and pulling. its more comfortable than a tampon but you have to make sure its sitting in there properly. it could probably stay in there all day with light bleeding. but maybe only a couple of hours on the heaviest flow.

This is the second cup I bought (the first being FemmeCup). I'm pretty satisfied with it. The ridge is a bit harder than the FemmeCup, so I wouldn't necessarily recommend this for first-time users. The Mooncup has a pretty big capacity and is good for the first couple of days when the flow is heavier. I gave this product four stars because I find it harder to use than my other menstrual cup and it doesn't always open up and I have to fiddle around with it, but apart from that, it's good. I've used it for 8 to 12 hours no problem and while playing sports (swimming, working out, judo).

I've always been someone who hated periods. Literally I've been on hormonal contraception since my first period to try and bleed as little as possible! Tampons never feel like they are in right or if they are it's a lucky 10% of the time. Not only this but a big no no in bikinis because I have seen poor women walking along with the string hanging out (ergh), actually I don't want the whole world to know I'm on my period! Pads? Ok.. but again drying, expensive and can rub. There is so much waste and not always the bins to dispose of the waste and cmon we all grew out of nappies I feel degraded having to wear them! I'm particulary active, I love the gym, I have horses and periods ALWAYS got in the way. This little cup is great! It feels so much cleaner, the best thing is it sits far lower than a tampon so you don't have the constant struggle to position it correctly. It's silicone so it moulds to your own shape it's not hard like a tampon! There's no waste, don't have a bin available? Doesn't matter! On a flight, out camping? It WORKS! It's comfortable, it really doesn't leak once you've got the hang of it (just need to be happy checking that the seal is ok). Okay it's a little gross seeing menstrual blood but there is no smell at all and when it's collected not absorbed it really doesn't look as much in volume which I didn't expect. Why have I only found out now there's something I can safely sleep in! At first I wore a small panty liner just in case but you really grow with confidence and it is a fantastic assesst to any lady :-) You will probably open the box and think 'jheez was this a good idea after all?' But after a day or so of trying it really is easier. I still can't correctly always place tampons in fact I dread them! But 1-2 days with this I feel confident and most importantly free! It's worth a go to try and persevere and see if it can help you!

I love this. I won't mark the product down any stars from what it deserves because the few problems that it has are not the fault of the product and there's no way to fix them- it will always be a bit messy if your hand slips and there will always be a little bit of a bad suction noise, but it's quiet and you can just flush the toilet then take it out in public bathrooms if it's a problem for you. Take some moist wipes in case you can't get a bathroom with a sink inside, if it's quiet use the disabled toilet. No more constantly worrying about sneezing or coughing or build up from tight muscles while sitting and releasing too much at once when you stand, meaning you have to go home and change and waste half the day. No more tapping your foot anxiously hoping desperately that you can escape quick enough in meetings or lectures. You really don't know that it's there. This product makes the most irritating part of being female a whole lot easier and no worry of toxic shock if the bathrooms are busy or you get caught up doing other stuff. I always used to panic if the train was delayed and I couldn't get to the bathroom for an hour longer than expected after all the TSS horror stories. Pop some ibuprofen, make sure it's sealed properly then simply don't think about it again until you happen to have time to stop again.
