About Mooncup:

Mooncup began with a clear goal: to give people a healthier, sustainable way to manage their periods.

Back in 2002, we launched the world’s first medical-grade silicone menstrual cup, pioneering a movement that put health and the planet first. We saw an industry where profit came before people, ingredients were hidden, and plastics reigned, so we challenged the status quo.

Now, we're on a mission to become the world’s biggest sustainable period care brand. We’ve just launched Mooncup period pads into Sainsbury’s, Boots, Holland & Barrett and Look Fantastic. We’re also partnering with workplaces, gyms and hotels (like Canva, Danone, Third Space, Gymshark and Claridge’s) to offer free period care in bathrooms.

We use only science-backed, body-safe ingredients because your period products should work with your body, not against it.

Takes a bit of getting used to but this is a great product! Saving loads of money and helping the environment! I have very heavy periods and the mooncup was excellent! As i said it does take a while to get used to it and i wasn't really convinced i had it right all of the time? I'm over 40 with no children and bought the size A, but i think the size B would probably have been better!

I think once I learn how to use it properly I'll be a huge fan. This is my second period using it and I am having fewer and fewer leaks. I is also getting more confortable.I am already saving money, though. I usually go through 2 or 3 boxes of tampons per period and I don't need them anymore!

I have to confess that when I first heard about these 20 years ago the idea revolted me. However, about a year ago my sister mentioned them to me again as a convert. I finally decided to take the plunge and try one. If I didn't like it, I could always go back to what I was already using. For me it was about finding something better than pads. Tampons had been too painful to use for quite a while, but pads are frankly horrid, and not environmentally friendly either. Having never been someone who could use tampons without an applicator, and having read some of the horror story reviews here though I was nervous. After 4 months I am now ready to write a proper review.1) Give it time. It takes a while to work out the best way to insert it, to know if its inserted properly, and to be confident that it won't leak. I suggest wearing a liner the 1st couple of times just incase2) Don't be scared to cut the 'tail' off - just don't do it straight away, you need to practice removing it without 1st!3) 'Wiggling' the cup to remove it helps break the seal4) Persevere, I promise its worth itThe final convincer for me was doing a 3 day trek in the Atlas mountains without any access to anything other than squat toilets, and only those at night, nothing during the day. Had I done the trek with the 'normal' arsenal of supplies it would have been a completely different experience whereas with this I could put it in the morning and forget about it for the 10+ hours hiking up and down mountains without worrying about TSS or anything else. Good luck!

Quite impressed to be honest. Thought I was going to have issues to begin with, but found it pretty easy to use after two "practice" attempts. This product will save me a fortune, and I like the fact that it's environmentally friendly and also "Body friendly", as opposed to regular internal sanitary products.

takes a little while to get used to this but it works excellently, is comfortable and is much better than other more commercial products such as towels and tampons. Every woman should try this. Instructions that come with it are very helpful and clear. Be careful to trim the steam a tiny bit at a time to get the right length however even if you remove too much - as I did due to my impatience - you can still make it work and remove it ok so don't panic if you do this. This makes sleeping a lot more comfortable and safer during that time of the month.

I love this product! I bought it on a whim 10 years ago in an attempt to be more environmentally friendly (it's amazing how much sanitary waste the average woman generates in her lifetime!). I initially thought the price was a bit steep, but when I considered how much I used to spend each month on tampons, towels etc, it's a massive bargain! I reckon I've saved just short of £1000 over 10 years...wow!I've only recently had to replace my cup after 10 years use due to a very minor tear in one of the 'suction' holes (which actually didn't effect use at all), which proves that these things are long lasting. After a bit of practice it becomes second nature to use, is far more comfortable and so much healthier than traditional sanitary products. I haven't experienced any of the dryness or irritation that often comes with tampon use whilst using the Mooncup.I have recommended this item for years to all of my friends, I know it takes some convincing but you won't be disappointed. It saves you money, is better for you and is much better for the environment. Give it a go!

OK, I've only used this one cycle so far, and as many others have said - I just wish i had discovered it years ago!I read many of the reviews, both good and bad. One lady pointed out that she'd called their customer support and was told that the cup should sit really low down, and the instructions do say much lower than a tampon.I believe that's the best advice, and having read some of the horror story reviews - I believe putting it too high up is the problem.I put it in low - with just half a finger nail depth before I could touch it with my hand, and it's really comfy - no leaks whatsoever. Not bad for a beginner! The only thing I struggled slightly with is removing it. So far I've had to squat right down, and it's taken about 5 mins. I'm hoping I'll get better at it with practice as I don't really feel like squatting down if i want to use it in a public loo in the future.Amazing product, great for the environment, great for my purse as I'll never have to buy sanitary protection again.I've never felt so confident during my period, I now feel like those fictional unbelievable women off the adverts who run round in white shorts during their period. Please take note.. keep it low inside you, I really believe that is the key.

I'd tried Fleurcup and it was okay - this was better. Especially good for overnight use in particular. Ladies will understand - nice to be able to sleep though the night without worries... Takes a bit of practice to get sat comfortably for day use, but worth persevering if you've a day or two where you can be caught out in a bad way with conventional protection.
