About Mooncup:

Mooncup began with a clear goal: to give people a healthier, sustainable way to manage their periods.

Back in 2002, we launched the world’s first medical-grade silicone menstrual cup, pioneering a movement that put health and the planet first. We saw an industry where profit came before people, ingredients were hidden, and plastics reigned, so we challenged the status quo.

Now, we're on a mission to become the world’s biggest sustainable period care brand. We’ve just launched Mooncup period pads into Sainsbury’s, Boots, Holland & Barrett and Look Fantastic. We’re also partnering with workplaces, gyms and hotels (like Canva, Danone, Third Space, Gymshark and Claridge’s) to offer free period care in bathrooms.

We use only science-backed, body-safe ingredients because your period products should work with your body, not against it.

So instruction said that size B are for women who are under 30 and had no kids.. So i ended up buying size A which i later realised was far to big for me as although i'm over 30, i haven't had kids. After purchasing the size B, it took persistent of practice to fold the cup and insertion. But after 3 cycles, i can safely say it works!! You know when you have it in place in there as you hear this slight pop feeling. I'm so fascinated how much blood it collects from my body and best of all, you really don't get that period smell as you do wearing pads/tampons. From a personal opinion though, since using it, the outside bit of my v part seem to have widen slightly... so not sure i'd personally advise young girls who aren't sexual active to use this. But this is just personal experience. As for cleaning, once i've finished with it, i place it in a jar full of hot boiling water and leave it in before cleaning it with light soap and place it back in the bag. Another tip for someone who is a semi bleeder, although i don't leak, probs best to keep a sanitiser and water bottle if you encounter a toilet without a basin inside the cubicle. Handy when you need to empty and wash it. Oh and it doesn't leak! Not even when i'm asleep, jumping around and dancing to a workout or jogging! It's amazing! I rated it 4 star purely to the confusing instructions

Like everyone, I was a bit dubious about using this at first. Now I wouldnt be without it. Once you have mastered the art of getting it in and out, there will be no going back. I would say, dont cut all of the stem off until you have tried it. I did and although I am still able to get it out without too much trouble, having more of the stem would make it easier. The only thing you have to think about with this is being in a bathroom with a sink when it needs emptied. You really dont want to be leaving a cubicle with it then going back in. Also, I wouldnt leave it in longer than 4 hours even when you arent heavy as there can be a bit of a smell. This can be removed by a good wash and a soak in sterliser tablets but it can be really off putting. As a sufferer of endometriosis I really think that has helped. Also its really handy as you dont need to remember to buy anything. It comes in a little bag.

Ladies I am not joking when I say that this product changed my life for a week every month. I'd heard of menstrual cups but was skeptical, however I had got to a point where my body wasn't liking tampons and when I read up on what tampons are made of, I wasn't liking them either.Looking for a better solution I read up on menstrual cups with the same cynicism I had had previously, however found hardly anything negative said.So I took the plunge and opted for Mooncup based on reviews and never looked back. Wow!!My PMS pains have reduced (they are still there and they still hurt but nothing like before), the cup is secure and gives you peace of mind against mishaps. The stem is perfect for removal and can be cut down for comfort if too long.I have purchased another branded cup to use alongside this one and it didn't nearly stand up to the test the way this did, so I ordered a second Mooncup instead.I also love the bag to store it in so no-one has to see it in the bathroom and it is safely stored away, plus you never have to think about running low, nor about whether it’s a "Heavy" or "Light" day.The money saved from not having to buy sanitary products makes this product worth it alone! If you are considering it and still not sure, go for it, start with a Mooncup and you'll never look back!!

I just need to say that anyone thinking about buying the Mooncup, stop thinking and just buy it! It is SO worth every penny - I am over the moon with it - no pun intended! It’s amazingly simple and so effective. Sorry for the next part as I’m going into detail.....make sure you read the instructions on how to insert and although they say to insert when it’s wet I actually found that more difficult, I had a few goes while squatting so I got used to it, I came on yesterday so perfect to practice on the loo (for public loos when I’m out and about) yes it is a bit weird seeing the fluid in the Mooncup but it beats having all the mess of pads and even worse tampons! It hasn’t leaked at all and I can still go for a wee easily! And the best part is you are saving SO much money and saving the planet at the same time. I have 2 daughters one who is nearing puberty and I will most definitely be buying her one! So so happy!!!

This is the second menstrual cup I have purchased. The material is softer compared to the other brand I had. Pro: it is easier to insert. Con: It won't extend properly sometimes. You might need to use the menstrual pad along with.

Tricky to get the hang of, my advice if you're new to menstrual cups is use the online forums for help, these are invaluable. The product was just how I expected, durable, lightweight and comfortable when used correctly. Capacity is more than you think.

This is absolutely great for keeping track of how heavy your flow is. I can now see exactly what's what and feel more acquainted with my cycle. Also, I may have just been lucky with my last two periods but, in spite of very heavy flow I've had less cramps when I've used the mooncup. That's a massive bonus! The mooncup is really comfortable to wear, I find the cup easy to put in (once you've practised a few times) but quite tricky to get out. I always place it as low as I can but it seems to work its way further up and then I feel as though I'm reaching in up to my elbow to get it out...no way this can be achieved without full squat position, state of relative undress, etc! Plus, as my flow is really heavy, it's a messy job. I don't mind this as I'm not squeamish or anything, but it does mean that after one cup change I look as though I've taken part in a murder. This does mean that I only want to use my mooncup when I'm at home. I'm certainly not about to emerge from the loo at work with my entire hand and forearm covered in blood and my trousers and pants still around my ankles!! Nor do I feel I could use this at anyone else's house, just in case I turned their bathroom into an episode of Dexter. However, if your flow is light, I think this could be entirely manageable wherever you are. And no matter what your flow, I would recommend experimenting with this to see if it feels more comfortable for you and makes a difference to your cramps.

I've been wanting to use this for a while. They do work perfectly, however very uncomfortable to remove. I've also had to remove it sporadically due to the amount of pressure cause by the vacuum effect it has, and causing a running-like pain near my spine. Other than that, it's easy to introduce and can last for a long time.
