At Basco, we source the finest Galician beef from the Northwest of Spain. Our Galician beef range comes from retired Frisona dairy cows between 6 and 8 years old, allowing for natural grass-fed marbling. These older cows have a higher percentage fat content and more marbling, resulting in a unique and distinct flavor. Each Galician rib steak is dry-aged for a minimum of 35 days. Basco and this particular steak came recommended to me by a friend. It really is THE most tastiest steak EVER. Juicy, tender. Perfect. The kind you have in Michelin starred restaurants. It comes perfectly packaged in a polystyrene container that keeps it frozen.

Top notch. Galician beef is rightly famous and the rib steak we had is no exception. I'll certainly be ordering it again. Full of flavour, marbled with fat -- a real treat. Follow the cooking instructions on this site and you won't go wrong.

This was bought as a gift for friends who value fine foods and ethically produced meat in particular. Previous recipients have enjoyed your products, especially the Galician Rib Steak, which was declared better even than the steaks he had eaten whilst in Argentina. I’m sure this will be equally well received.

I was eager to see how this fared compared to the other Galician beef I've tasted. Unfortunately I wasn't impressed. After removing the bones and fat the 1Kg cut became a 600g cut. But the most disappointing aspect was the flavour. The distinct deep gamey, mushroomy flavour associated with Galician beef was absent. It tasted like a regular steak. Not bad, just not what it's supposed to be. I'm glad I got it on sale.

The most delicious, melt in the mouth steak ever. So tasty, don’t be put off by the fat, it makes the meat amazing. Couldn’t fault it. Will definitely be buying again.
