“This bread pan is ideal to bake bread. Its shape allows you to bake both round and oval loaves. The only downside is that it is very heavy, so not child-friendly. A well worth and long lasting investment. Glad to have it.”
“Tremendous, really. I’m a committed sourdough baker, and bread is one of the main uses of my oven. On moving into a new house, the (perfectly decent in most respects) oven just wasn’t cutting it with loaves. If this didn’t work, it was seriously new oven time. The impact this has had on my bread is phenomenal. Seals the steam in superbly, gives blistering oven spring. For whatever reason, outperforms the ceramic cloche I have by a country mile.”
“I just love this pan! I use it pretty much daily and have never regretted buying it! It makes lovely crisp crusts and gives amazing oven spring and can handle most loaf shapes and sizes no trouble! My only criticism would be the weight- at 9kg it is quite a beast! But the design and positioning of the handles make lifting it easier. I think it also benefits from 30mins-1hr preheating. I also used the base to cook lovely pizza on!”
“My experience with baking is very limited if existent at all (not even a year). We got this pan back in June 2020 and it did not take a long time to adjust baking times.
It was a pleasure to switch to use this pan from previously using a ceramic bakeware + tin of water at the bottom of the oven. It takes about 35 min with close lid and 5 min extra w/o a lid at 230C (fan oven) for 400g of sourdough loaf to be fully cooked (longer for 800g loaf). The bread is baked evenly inside and gets a nice crust.
I find handles on the lid to be of convenience. It is a heavy pan, so you need to like/(take into consideration) that property when deciding whether to buy it. I get pleasure from looking at it, dealing with it and making a nice loaf of bread. It is my version of Bentley/RR.”
“I bought this Dutch oven because I really like the thoughtful design. It means I don’t burn myself trying to plop a dough into a hot casserole dish and I can easily remove the lid/carry it etc. It’s expensive but I’m glad I made the investment and use it every time to help get the best oven spring out of my dough”
