I absolutely recommend this pan to everyone. I used to have a lodge combo (which was good) but this challenger pan just takes bread making to another level. I can make sourdough baguettes easily. My sourdough journey just become so much more interesting. I’ll post my first sourdough bread baked with the challenger pan. I must add that I’m a novice regarding sourdough bread and I’m using the recipe for country loaf bread from Tartine Book. Also would like if you had the challenger bench knife Which looks also very nice. If you want to improve your baking look no further, challenger bread pan is the way to go. Wish I knew this pan before buying the lodge combo cooker. Be clever, but quality, buy once.

I purchased this as a gift for my son - who is absolutely delighted with the Challenger! In due time will probably make better comments than I could possibly make at this point. He is just getting used to baking his favourite loaves with his Challenger. His comments so far are excellent bread pan, and the results are first class a magnitude beyond what can be achieved with conventional cooker at home.

Perfection comes at a cost - this oven is very expensive but the results are worth every penny - perfect sourdough every time!

The Challenger Bread pan is beautiful, well done, but, alas, very heavy. That means that it must be heated a long time before putting a loaf inside. It is also means that it is not so easy to lift a heavy lid, to put quickly a shaped bread and to close the lid. On the good side, the Challenger Bread pan creates a good amount of stream, the bread rises better, the crust is crispy.

it's expensive and heavy but might be worth it. I don't recommend if you make bread once in a while but if you bake regularly and want good quality bread you can go ahead and buy it, otherwise the dutch oven from lodge is a great product too.
