I was frankly expecting more having read all the glowing reviews. The stone takes an absolute age to heat up and with the oven set to 240 degrees C the stone only reaches circa 176 degrees after the best part of an hour (and yes the oven works fine). I so want to be more positive about the stone but for the moment it's just a disappointment; I'll persevere though. It looks good, but I didn't just buy it for it's aesthetics.

I’ve used my stone 3 times so far. Made baguettes twice they were great. I also cooked pizza on it at the weekend which was good but slightly undercooked in the centre. This was my fault as I wasn’t exactly sure of the timing using a stone. Next time I’ll give it a minute or 2 longer! It’s easy to use and easy to clean.

We made the best pizza ever. It’s very heavy but excellent for creating heat for pizza and bread baking in an ordinary oven.

I'm super impressed with Bakery Bits...I've now made several purchases from them as my baking obsession grows. The quality of the goods and delivery are top notch. For example, this very heavy baking stone arrived the day after I made my online purchase...amazing! My sourdough gets better every week! Thank you.
