I've just baked my first loaf of bread using the granite baking stone and my loaf had a much better oven spring compared to using my previous stone. Very impressed with this. It's a big heavy lump of stone, so takes a while to heat up, results are excellent from using it. Thanks BabkeryBits for making this purchase possible.

This is ideal, but very heavy. Perhaps 1.5 cm would be better for domestic use

So far so good, well finished and heavy. Fine grained granite with no visible flaws so should last. This stone holds on to heat, if you grab hold of it hours after your oven has been switched off you could burn yourself so be careful!

As I say, why did it take me so long to get one of these. Sourdough loaves come out beautifully and much better than my previous terracotta stone. Love it!

Excellent product well designed and a very good finish and best of all made in GB. 2 comments. 1)-- I am 6ft+ tall and the trolley could be perhaps be 3 ins higher. 2)-- if the trolley is higher it would be more stable being wider by 3 or 4 inches These are only comments on a well made and executed product at a very reasonable price.
