This was bought for a relative. I have not heard any comment regarding the item, but as it was on a wish list I assume everything is ‘ticket-boo’!!

Lovely piece, purchased for an avid baker back in New Zealand, probably will be the only one in the country, prompt service , well packaged, will give her home baked bread a truly professional finish.

These are excellent proving baskets and the dough plops out quite easily without sticking. I dust the inside of mine with sieved rye flour and then rub it in and this appears to work itself well into the linen which is what you want. I use 850gms of wet dough to make my loaf and even after it has risen in the banneton there is a couple of inches spare before reaching the lip of the basket so it could take an even heavier amount - certainly 1KG without any problem. After tipping the dough out i put the banneton into the airing cupboard overnight to dry out which will avoid any mould. ( I have done the same thing with my linen couche for years without any mould forming) Hopefully it will last for years.
