“Useful product not too difficult to set up. Is not completely easy to use however and practice needed. You need to hold it above and not on the baking stone before releasing or the cloth won't move. Perhaps an improvement would be a slight recess on the back edge to enable the cloth to move and enable the peel to stay on the stone as you slide the product off.”
“I bought this mainly for placing and removing freshly made thin based pizzas onto a very hot baking stone in my oven, as I always found difficult to do so without tipping some of the 'over generous' topping onto the hot stone or worse into the oven itself. The method is simple but very very effective, the cloth belt sliding easily and delivering the whole pizza effortlessly and without any mess.
But it doesn't stop there, as I can also pick up pastry bases of any thickness to put into pie/flan dishes or even pastry tops including lattice work with no holes or breakage.
The peel itself is made of 1/2 inch solid hardwood and can hold up to a 14" pizza. It is very sturdy and the cloth belt is easy to remove for washing if it gets a bit mucky.
