This grignette is extremely sharp and cuts well - fortunately there's a cover to stop you cutting yourself when you are shuffling through a drawer trying to find it! Blade replacement appears pretty easy, and when a blade corner loses its sharpness you get to re-use it 4 times by turning it to get a different corner.

I placed an order mid August and upon frequently checking for updates on line - the order said "processing" for 2 weeks. I had to reach out to them via online chat to find out what was holding up my order. I was told they were on a National Holiday for the month of August and as soon as they return from their break my order will be filled. Why wasn't there some sort of automatic response to me explaining this when I placed the order. I am from the US so I am not aware of their national holidays, but even if I did, I should have been notified of the situation.

I've been baking for a couple years and I've always been happy slashing bread with my homemade lame, a double edged blade attached to a chop-stick. I thought it best I upgrade. I shouldn't have bothered. I don't think this item is any better than something you could make yourself. This is in no way a negative towards this great website & company who always give a fantastic service, and who give great advice, and who I turn to 100% of the time - I just don't think this item is at all necessary if you're happy to make your own for a tiny fraction of the price.

I've only used it once as yet but it cut the dough beautifully. Thanks very much.

Makes slashing high hydration doughs easy and takes standard razor blades which are cheap to replace.
