i recently attended a 5 day intensive wall and floor tiling course, and found that the course was very constructive and gave me further experience to progress within the course. The staff were very extremely helpful and made myself feel very at home, as i came from south wales nearly 5 hours away. I will be coming back in the next few weeks to do another 5day course of tiling as i really enjoyed and found it very beneficial for myself.

attended the 10 day Intensive Carpentry course to learn new skills to help with property renovations. My trainer Lawrence has a wealth of knowledge and was very articulate in imparting that knowledge to the group of 3 that were on the course. The course was well structured and moved at your own pace. I would highly recommend YTA. I enjoyed it so much that I’ve booked to do the kitchen fitting course.

I completed the 2 week tiling course and level 1 certificate in June 2019. I have taken my time in writing a review as I wanted to see how what I learnt would play out in the real world. Being a woman with zero tiling experience I was apprehensive about starting the course, I needn't have been. I was treated the same as the others on the course and no question however silly I thought it was, went unanswered or made me feel patronized. I enjoyed the course so much that I handed my notice in to my comfortable sales role in construction sales the following Monday and started on my path to setting up my own Tiling business. They can't teach you 10 years experience in 2 weeks and they dont pretend to be able too. They do teach you the basics and more. I went away and practised on my own and now feel confident to take on jobs myself and grow my skill set from there. I recently went back and did 3 days plastering to help me with my tiling, putting up plasterboards etc properly. I think that's my main point, they teach you how to do things properly to start with. I cant recommend YTA enough, really friendly teachers, a good set up with all the tools you'll need, easy to get to off the motorway and flexible. I will no doubt be going back for more courses in the future.

I have just completed my two weeks Level 1 in carpentry and joinery. I really enjoyed my training over the two weeks, learning so many new skills in a friendly environment. My tutor Lawrence was great at explaining what we needed to do and demonstrating the technique used to complete the task. I would definitely recommend the YTA training centre if you are looking to start something new in the industry or further your skills. A big thank you to the team.

Had the pleasure of having Graham and Lindon as my tutors. They were always there to answer any questions I had throughout the course and very friendly. Would highly recommend and looking forward to going back and learning something new.

I attended a suite of YTA courses including Tiling, Carpentry, Plumbing, Plastering, Bricklaying and Kitchen Fitting. I was a novice, working in IT, with little more experience than the odd DIY job. I have used all the training as a landlord, renovating a few properties. I've installed 3 bathrooms (includes all appliances , tiling, and flooring), and I'm currently installing my 2nd kitchen (again involving plenty of plumbing, tiling, woodwork etc). As well as numerous other DIY tasks, around the place. I understand this would be a small fortune to pay tradespeople to do. I've done it myself, thanks to skills and confidence developed as a result of attending YTA courses, instructed by the excellent tutors Lorry, Dave, and Graham. I also gained a great deal of knowledge surrounded by industry trades people, also cross-training across disciplines. A very helpful perspective. I've plenty to learn in maintaining properties, but I think its helpful to get a good grounding in what is a multi-discipline/skill set of tasks. Many thanks to tutors and course colleagues.I recommend to anyone who wants to have a go and do a good job, and some might say, professional.

I did the 2 day skimming course. By the first day had skimmed a wall and ceiling. Dave the instructor was very easy to work with teaching me the right techniques to skim. Highly recommend 😁

I attended the 10 day joinery course in October 19. The course was well presented with all the materials and tools available. Lawrence, the teacher was always there for you and as the classes were small he could spend plenty of time with each student. He explained and demonstrated clearly and you could tell he was a master craftsman. There was tea, coffee and biscuits available all day. I feel confident taking my skills out on to site now. I would definitely recommend and I’ll hopefully be doing other courses in time.

Thank you for the 5 star review Chris. Very much appreciated.
I really enjoyed my day plumbing! I went into it with a general fear of plumbing, but I couldn’t believe how much we learnt - working in copper, plastic, solder. The tuition was brilliant - structured, approachable and informative. I’m going to try to book on for more!

Thank you for a great 5 star review following the 2 day worktop course. Very much appreciated.
I recently undertook a kitchen fitting course with Lawrence Booth. The course was excellent and I learned a lot. Lawrence was also a great teacher and talked me through each step. I will be back to do the plumbing course at some point! Thanks again.

Hi All. After many years of carpentery I decided to update my c.v with a NVQ. It is at that point I realised my struggle with dyslexcia. I plucked the courage to call the first company I saw online. And what an important call it was. From the very moment I called YTA and explained my condition to the guys on the office. It wasn't any trouble what so ever to accommodate myself. Firstly Graham. Books you in. Prior to attending Mark calls you. On that call it's all about the task. Relax! It's easy. With years of skill you will think it's a doddle trust me! Mark is the examiner on the day of the test but to be fair you will already know him. This is due to him going threw everything on the calls leading up to the test day. You will then receive a plan in the post which is what you'll build on the day. In the plan pack will be some questions. Again if in doubt just call The office or Mark. Couldn't be simpler! On the day. Nerves flowing arrive at the centre nice and early. Booom! Cuppa tea and and choccie bickies. It really wasn't was I was expecting. Mark on the day was absolutely outstanding. (Thanks Mark) Graham in the office. Mr cool! Was just so erm? Cool an that. All my materials all there waiting for me to drink me tea. Stand by GO. Nice clean workspace was provided all good timber. Remember I am dyslexic. Always someone walking around to ask if I was on any doubt at all. I was even asked did I require a blue overlay to read a little easier. They had also had my plans blown up to a bigger size for me. I really couldn't say it more clearer. Go see the staff at YTA for all your trades certs. I promise you for my experience they have all been truly amazing. A massive massive thanks to Mark Dale and Graham for all your help throughout every step of my journey. Ps. Booooom cert arrived.

I found the intensive 5 day plumbing course excellent. Lyndon gave great instruction with just the right level of input allowing us to go away and figure things out ourselves but always on hand to support when we got a bit stuck. I felt very confident at the end of the course that I can tackle small plumbing jobs at home and on my rental properties, and have already put my new skills to the test!
