“I'm a female property investor constantly forking out for small plumbing repairs - so wanted to learn to do it myself. It makes financial sense to pay someone to do the work for me. However - because I need to turn up at a property when there is an issue - it makes sense I fix it while I'm there because most times it will be something very simple (but I didn't know how to fix these issues.... Until now!) I was worried about being the only girl, but felt instantly relaxed. Lyndon was a great teacher and good laugh. On the 5 day intensive plumbing course I learned how to fit pipes using soldering and compression fittings, plumb a full bathroom (fitting the pipes through the entire bathroom, plumbing in all taps, putting the toilet together etc), fit radiators, fit a kitchen sink with plumbing (including T-ing off for a washing machine and an outside tap). I've learned a few jobs tradesmen have done for me were nonsense - so now I'm much wiser to what is required (and can do it myself). The biggest surprise was how easy repairing a toilet is. Parts are usually around £10 (£20 max) and they screw in so why waste money having someone come fix it? As soon as I got home I fixed a few issues that had been bugging me for months. I may return to do joinery or learn to fit worktops next. Thanks YTA!”

“I have done a lot of theoretical learning through reading and YouTube, but doing the course was invaluable. It gave me the chance to practice on a wall and ask questions as and when I faced issues. The best thing Iearned on the course was to just keep going. I just did my curved high cieling and had I not attended the course I would have given up after 1st coat because it looked so bad and was so hard. Dave teaches you to be quick and what to pay attention to and what can be left for 'flattening in'. The cieling now looks so smooth and flat. This skill takes practice and my first attempts aren't perfect but by far better than what I've seen some 'prefesionals' do in the past. I'd recommend doing some theoretical learning before the course so you have an idea what questions to ask - Dave covers all the basics but for me it was easier to have some prior knowledge. I was also a bit worried attending as a female, but very quickly I felt comfortable and didn't feel I was treated any different for it. Thank you!”

“This was my second visit to YTA, I did the 5 day plastering course a couple of years ago and came back to do the kitchen fitting course as a couple of family members want new kitchens fitting and I’m looking to do it for them. Having completed the course I feel fully confident tackling these, from fitting the units to cutting and joining the worktops and finishing off with cornice and edging strips etc and even creating a curved edge breakfast bar! Gareth guided me through everything really well and was on hand to answer any questions and assist when needed. I’ll more than likely be back to do the plumbing course at some point in the not too distant future!”

Enjoy and learnt a lot and confident that I now have all the necessary skills to work on water pipes and fittings. The training centre is well setup. “I recently completed a five-day Plumbing course with YTA, and I can honestly say it was an excellent experience from start to finish. A special thanks to my instructor, Landon Gallagher, who was absolutely brilliant throughout the course. He was professional, knowledgeable, patient, and very supportive. He explained everything clearly and made sure I understood both the theory and practical side of plumbing. I really appreciated the way he shared his real-life experience and gave us the opportunity to work practically during the five days. The course was very well organised and gave me valuable hands-on experience. I learned a lot in just five days and feel much more confident about working in the plumbing trade. “I highly recommend YTA Training Centre in Bradford to anyone looking to learn construction trade skills. I completed training in plumbing, tiling, plastering and joinery and a wide range of other construction skills. The course was excellent from start to finish. The staff are highly experienced, Paul, Dave and Steve were all friendly, and always willing to help. They take the time to explain everything clearly and make sure you understand each skill before moving on. The hands-on training gave me the confidence and practical experience I needed. Overall, it's a fantastic training centre with great instructors and an excellent training centre. “Just completed my 10 day joinery course with YTA and I have come out of it buzzing! Scott was very patient whilst I asked a million questions and explained everything clearly so that I not only learned loads, but got plenty of hands on practice and grew in confidence exponentially. Beyond the core learning, I had the chance to try laminating wood to make a tabletop, build stairs and a roof, cut beautiful rounded edges on my own worktop using a router and, by the end of the course, I had learned so much that I felt confident to design and create a built-in wardrobe from scratch for my own home. It has given me such a boost to know that I can take planks of wood and sheets of plywood and create something professional from it! “Great course and excellent value for money! The 5 Day Intensive Plumbing Course was very hands-on and easy to follow, even as a beginner. We covered everything from changing taps to fitting sinks, radiators, and bathrooms. My instructor Paul was fantastic – very knowledgeable, patient, and great at explaining things clearly.
