“I'm a female property investor constantly forking out for small plumbing repairs - so wanted to learn to do it myself. It makes financial sense to pay someone to do the work for me. However - because I need to turn up at a property when there is an issue - it makes sense I fix it while I'm there because most times it will be something very simple (but I didn't know how to fix these issues.... Until now!) I was worried about being the only girl, but felt instantly relaxed. Lyndon was a great teacher and good laugh. On the 5 day intensive plumbing course I learned how to fit pipes using soldering and compression fittings, plumb a full bathroom (fitting the pipes through the entire bathroom, plumbing in all taps, putting the toilet together etc), fit radiators, fit a kitchen sink with plumbing (including T-ing off for a washing machine and an outside tap). I've learned a few jobs tradesmen have done for me were nonsense - so now I'm much wiser to what is required (and can do it myself). The biggest surprise was how easy repairing a toilet is. Parts are usually around £10 (£20 max) and they screw in so why waste money having someone come fix it? As soon as I got home I fixed a few issues that had been bugging me for months. I may return to do joinery or learn to fit worktops next. Thanks YTA!”

Friendly, supportive trainer with years of direct experience in carpentry and joinery. Well-paced learning, with honest assessments of skill and progress along the way, and opportunities to try out tasks and equipment beyond the accreditation units.”

“I attended the 5 day joinery course last week. The tutor Scott was great, and I learned a lot throughout the week. Scott is an experienced tradesman, as well as a teacher. Because of this, he was able to explain how the skills learned on the course can be transferred to site environment. The work areas provide enough space for learning, but also encourage you to be sociable with other people on the course. The other tutors were also really helpful, but credit to Scott in particular. I booked to learn new skills, and feel that I definitely achieved this. I would recommend YTA to others.”

“Did the level1 plastering course with city and guilds certificate… was told 6/8 weeks for my certificate to arrive it’s been 9 weeks now and I still have not received anything !! I’ve left emails , left phone messages directly to yta phone and messaged them directly on instagram and had no response what so ever !! Pretty shocking to say when I was enquiring about the course to start with they was quite quick in responding !! Either way I want my certificate !! Anyone thinking about doing this course should rethink , because so far I’m not getting no where except messed around !! My names Shane Jackson and I did the course with Dave hill !!!!”

I learnt alot and am looking forward too putting my new skills to the test. He was super patient, especially with another student proving to be quite entitled and difficult. “I have to admit I have never done any plumbing before so I was a little nervous about doing the 5 day plumbing course. But I have to admit it was great. The tuition was first rate, loads of tips and patience that I managed to finish the bathroom and radiators. Thank you, YTA for a great week that was relaxed and definitely taught me loads but mainly gave me the confidence to have a go and I have already started to use what we were taught and l plan on coming back and doing the plastering course.”

“Having trouble receiving a reply, I sent 2 people from our business to YTA on a 5 day plumbing course, the feedback from our people was very positive, however I have emailed the provider several times and had a reply, I don't wish to bad mouth anyone I would just like a reply from them which in turn has led to my 3 star rating”

“After joinery and carpentery course And spend 1550£ Level 1 accredited I do not have certificate and now Is over 7 months The owner is not interested to resolve an issue and contact me So if you need certificate to get better work I wouldn't recommend to get a trainning from this provider”

“Very much enjoyed the course, 20 mins in on the first day and we were using the hand tools to make different joints. The speed was good moving onto the next step as soon as we were ready. Matt was very knowledgeable, sharing his expertise and experience with customers in his trade. Felt fully competent by the end of the 5 days teaching.”

“An excellent course, great instruction from Dave and a good range of skills taught and a decent sized bay to learn how to plaster walls and a ceiling. I spent some time looking on the internet for a suitable course and am very pleased I came to Bradford from Wiltshire (I stayed at a reasonable travel lodge down the road). I’ve subsequently plastered a few rooms at home. The course has given me the confidence to do this and I’m very happy with the results. I bought an orbital sander to remove any small marks but I’m definitely getting better with more practice.”

“I can't speak highly enough of this course and the people that teach here, we are a small family business that continued to be let down by plasterers. After completing the 2 weeks course at YTA we now have eliminated a massive issue for our business but equally offered our customers top quality plastering thanks to the YTA team.
