“The first time I used them, I ordered after lunch on a Wednesday, and the delivery was there by lunchtime the next day. Everything was packed to protect the bottles, and we enjoyed a bottle of the wine tha night. The wine is so good that I turned round and ordered another dozen, as the price was very reasonable for the quality of the wine. Again the wine turned up promptly. I enjoy the fact that you get a direct link to the delivery company, so that you can see the progress of the delivery. Checking out the website is a joy. So many wines and spirits to choose from. I will even be going through the Single Malts as my husband enjoys Isla whiskeys and I'll be able to find one he hasn't tried as a surprise. If you ned something special that should be your first port of call, as it will most probably save you masses of time trying to find something in particular.”

“The only thing I could say against the company, and it's very minor, is that I thought the minimum order amount was quite high but that's just personal. Check them out - great for gifts especially.”

Thanks for your feedback. The minimum spend of 10 is in place due to the costs associated with processing orders for dispatch. In order to ensure these are covered, a minimum spend has been put in place since the DrinksDirect.co.uk website was launched back in 2004. However I am pleased to say that the minimum spend has not increased in this time, despite many costs and prices increasing!

“Yes, a good service, and the drinks were delivered when they said. There is a good selection of all sorts of drinks to order. In the end, one of the bottles I was sent was slightly different from what was ordered, but someone did call to ask if that was okay. (But I do not recall his saying why it had been changed.) Well, I had already paid, so how could I say no? In the end, the replacement bottle was okay and drinkable. But I was thinking that if you updated your order sheet menu to agree with actual stock on hand, then it would be impossible for anyone to order a bottle which is not available. When I say this, I am assuming the reason for the change was that the wine in question was no longer available.”

Thanks for your feedback. Your order shows the vintage on one of the wines on your order had changed and you were called to confirm whether it would be fine for a newer vintage to be processed. The product in question was the same product as ordered, but just a different vintage to that displayed when the order was placed on the website. Only after speaking with yourself and agreement for the item to be processed with the new vintage, your order was then processed. As you will appreciate there is only a limited amount of wines from any particular vintage and efforts are made to keep this information up to date and communicate any changes to customers.

“Very good service, quick dispatch but using the courier you do is a nightmare because they tried to deliver twice and missed us and then even though I had requested the item left on the doorstop they would not do it stating it needed a signature. I then went to the depot which was 10 miles away to collect it as theyu stated they could not do it again but when I got there I was told it was out for delivery again. Overall a bit of a nightmare .
