Very prompt delivery but very disappointed that the box was left by the front door. No attempt to ring the doorbell or knock. It was in clear view of anyone walking along the path and could easily stolen. I have no idea who delivered it or when!

I tried to purchase a gift. Once I had paid using PayPal, I received no opportunity to gift wrap, include a gift note or even an acknowledgment of my order (let alone delivery). Indeed this is the first contact I have received from Drinks Direct beside PayPal telling me that my account had been successfully debited.

Bit disappointed! I ordered 6 x bottles of the Baron de Ley Reserva Rioja 2017-2018. All the bottles were 2018 and none were 2017. I would have Atleast expected 2-3 bottles to be 2017. Not all 2018. £90 on a bit of false advertising! But poor really ☹️. I even sent an email and no response.

I stupidly thought that the wine was full size bottles, I didn’t realise they would be anything but that size . It seems I’ve paid more than I would of paid for the size I received !

Dear Tracy, Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to read of the issue you have raised. The wine you purchased is only available in half bottles in the UK. The particular style of wine that was ordered, in the most part, only come in half bottles. Due to the rich nature of the wine purchased, the amount poured into a glass is usually signficantly less than a normal still wine. We hope this helps clarify. A single bottle arrived next day (very good) in a cardboard wine box within another with 12 divisions. This was the most ridiculous and wasteful packaging ever received. Otherwise, service was good

Dear Customer, Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. We are sorry to read you were unhappy with the extra packaging used for your ordered item. Your order shows a high-value bottle was purchased. More packaging usually has a higher cost and it is preferable in many ways to keep packaging to a minimum. However, this has to be balanced with ensuring items are packed well, so the items arrive at the delivery point in great condition. Our warehouse team are advised of the costs and requirements to ensure all items are packed well. Where possible, recyclable packaging is used. The box in which your order was packed is made from recyclable cardboard. In addition, in the manufacture of our cardboard boxes, a significant percentage of the board used in its manufacture comes from recycled board sources. At Drinks Direct efforts have always been made to ensure items are packed as well as necessary, to ensure they reach the delivery point safely. We hope this helps to explain the packaging used. Efforts will continue to be made to explore packaging options and help ensure orders are being packed by the warehouse team in the best possible way. It was fine. By mistake I only ordered 3 bottles of wine instead of 6 (who only orders 3! So clearly a mistake). When I messaged and explained and asked for free delivery (its £7.99) if I ordered 6 more bottles, my email wasn't even responded to. Because of that I wouldn't order again

Delivery was all fine - but unfortunately I had a query (not the fault of Drinks Direct) after delivery - and my e mail wasn't responded to, which was disappointing as the issue couldn't then be resolved

I ordered the Hendricks gin tea cup and was really happy as it arrived within a couple of days, sadly when I opened my package, the cup I had been sent was not the same pattern as the cup advertised on your web page. I wanted the one advertised as it matches a tea pot I have. I have sent 2 emails so far regarding this and heard absolutely nothing, so I’m really not happy with my purchase, and if the one advertised is not available I would like a refund but as yet have not found how to get one.

The lady who assisted me on the phone could not have been more helpful however the dispatcher did not read the notes appropriately and delivered the order (a Christmas present) over a month early in November - very disappointing!

I was disappointed when paying as my Direct Debit did not go threw at your end for both orders and after several day of emailing back and forth I had to do a transfer via my bank which was an additional $9.00 per order $18.00 total - this took several days to sort at your end. Also once the product was sent 10 days after the initial order the tracking stated it was still at the depot and when i enquired via email have been told it had arrived at the destination, Very frustrated,

The 2 star rating is for the "APC" delivery company working on your behalf. Due to current circumstances the despatch was somewhat delayed, fine, I think we can all understand that. I have received a text on the delivery date from APC informing me that my order will arrive 10:54-12:54. I waited. When it didn't arrive, I called APC. 1st call no one answered, 2nd call I kind of got through but on hold for 14 min to be hang up on. Third time someone picked up. The lady who answered my call couldn't care less about the order not being withing the time window sent to me. This text is sent by a computer she said and your order can arrive at 4pm, no guarantee. I just wonder - what is the point of the text message sent to me? I certainly don't have the luxury of spending the day waiting for delivery. The driver, over 2 hrs outside that allocated time, said nothing no apology for being late, nothing....I don't think he knows customers are sent a text, or he doesn't care. The drinks were birthday present and just what I wanted, however I will not be using Drinks Direct again because of APC, disappointing experience.

I’m still waiting for half of the delivery 10 days later, with no contact to offer a reason why. Not very impressed I’m afraid. I am in complete isolation due to health conditions so have no other option

I ordered on the 14th April and received an email saying it would be delivered on the 17th. Here on the 19th it still hasnt been delivered and trying to contact Drinks Direct has been impossible, so i still don't know when it will arrive.

Six bottles of wine despatched in an absurd amount of packaging! A 12-bottle cardboard box with six bottles in it, packed with polythene balloons to stop them rattling around, inside another box just slightly larger. What a waste! The Wine Society manages to deliver to me regularly without resorting to antics like that!

It is important that orders are delivered in great condition and the packaging used helps to absorb any excessive movements in transit, while with the couriers. Efforts are made to keep packaging used to a minimum, whilst also making sure there is enough packaging to help ensure the items are delivered intact and in great condition. Most of the items dispatched are glass. Glass by its very nature can be fragile. The air cushions used in the dispatch process are to help absorb any sudden movements in transit. A majority of the volume of an air cushion, is air rather than plastic. The air cushions used are recyclable. As is the corrugated board. There is a cost associated with using excessive packaging and the amount used to pack orders is reviewed regularly and adjustments made as required. The importance of ensuring the right amount and the right kind of packaging used, while also considering environmental impact, is recognised at Drinks Direct. We can assure that the packaging used for your order, was used to help ensure that when you received your order, you would be delighted with items you purchased and to help prevent damage in transit.
