“My old model had a softer red rubber cushion and felt more flixibel to the scalp; the red cusion is a different material now, makes the teeth/combs more harsh to the scalp. The teeth/combs also feels less «bendy» and the whole brush feels lighter in the hand. It is not the quality this model used to have. Overall experience: Feels «cheaper».”

Regards the weight of the brush, you're old brush may have been our D5 which also has 9 rows but is a heavy weighted brush in a matt finish. “I have 3C ginger hair that gets compared to Merida from "Brave" constantly, & getting it to curl nicely can be extremely tough. The Denman gave me effortless, beautiful thick ringlets upon first attempt, without any tutorials. I was very impressed! I will be watching YT tutorials to get the most out of this beautiful hair tool. I've already retired all of my old brushes, except my detangler comb. Don't hesitate to buy one of these brushes if you have difficulties with your curls. PS: I heard that the 7 row is a little more "effortless" than the 9 row.”

“Love my 7 row styling brush. My curls have trouble clumping because of damage from dying. This brush really helps the curl pattern form while I’m growing out the damaged part of my hair.”
