“The material is fine. Unfortunately, the shipping method is faulty. It should have been packed in a rigid tube. The cardboard that arrived was crumpled, and the plastic wrap was broken. Unfortunately, after installing it, the customer wasn't happy with it, as the creases didn't disappear. I need to reorder the material, but I'm worried about shipping.”
“Put the Low-E20 on a roof window. Instructions clear and easy to follow. In the sun it became too hot to touch. Way hotter than a neighbouring window without the film. I was concerned about the window shattering and damage to the double glazing. It didnt seem to be any cooler near the window. It wasn't performing as per the marketing so removed it.”
“We have installed window films before with patience but without major problems.
We were unable to install this film despite following the instructions exactly and carefully.
The paper liner (attached to adhesive side) was too heavy for the given instructions to work and impossible to peel off in the way described even if you had someone to assist to hold things (but thereby potentially leaving marks on the adhesive). The instructions probably work if the liner is thin film but as we had a frosted transfer we had the paper liner. The transfer was about 90cm by 60cm and as I painfully peeled off the liner the film curled up and stuck to itself as soon as I got more than 5cm from the edge. The whole thing is now in the dustbin.
I contacted Abode and they offered a 50% discount on a repeat order but could not offer any different advice on how to install it - saying people find youtube videos helpful (but not providing links to them in the email or on their website). I chose not to waste more money as the same film will not be any easier second time around.
I will go back to buying window film that has protective surfaces on both sides and which is easier to install.”
“Two of us followed all the instructions and could not believe it when we had to turn the whole large sheet over after taking the backing sheet off. It was obviously very sticky and impossible to handle and we have ended up with it on but at a crooked angle. No amount of spraying soapy water would have made it any easier as it was too large to handle and we did not have a huge amount of space to turn it aroulnd. What a design error.”
“Never arrived, phoned over a week after I ordered to be told to wait another business week as samples are sent via 2nd class mail. Samples never arrived.”

“The window film was named as "anti fade", with 95% reduction in fading, £100's of our products have faded and been ruined. It was expensive and does absolutely nothing. I wrote an email to them and was massively fobbed off, blaming everything but the window film itself. We have film installed on other doors and windows in our property from elsewhere and nothing has faded at all. We paid a professional to fit the film for us and it has bubbled and smeared in numerous places and look a mess. We will be seeking a refund and/or legal action due to the losses we have had from this product. Avoid!”

We are sorry that fitting the film has been unsuccessful. This would only ever happen if you have not removed the fine clear liner from the window film before fitting it, as per the fitting instructions. This can sometimes be difficult to see but will definitely be there.
Please do this and try fitting the film again and if you need more advice please call us.

The sample of the film you have ordered has a protective layer that needs removing once the film has been fitted. Please check that you have done this as this may be what is causing the problems you have had.

“I wanted to like this window film as the last non-Abode film didn't stick. However, a day after applying the film all the pieces unstuck themselves, landing in a pile on the floor. The same thing again, two days later, on the floor. And a third time. So I lay in bed thinking about the problem late into the night, and got it!
Attempt No4; I've mixed some PVA wood glue in with the water, sprayed it on and so far, 24 hrs later, the film is still on the window.
So the lesson is this. Don't buy Adobe static film unless you want to waste a lot of time and effort trying to make it work.”

From what you have described this would only happen if the clear liner on the film hadn't been removed before you fitted it. We only wish you had called us or emailed us and we could have explained this to you.
It does say to remove the liner in the fitting instructions.
We can assure you that the film would not fall off the windows if the film if fitted correctly.

“Ordered on 11th Nov with free 2-3 day Royal Mail delivery; tracking received was was never updated. Chased after 5 days, and was sent an EVRI tracking number. Have repeatedly checked and EVRI states "We're sorry, we're not able to deliver your parcel today, but we will deliver it on the next working day." - this has been the case for a week now. 15 days since our order, and still no indication if or when we'll receive it. Next steps are to cancel and go elsewhere in future.”

I think we have worked out why the film isn't as you expected. You ordered the Light Silver 50% and not the 20%. This would explain why you don't have a mirror effect.

“Hard to put up without scratching and now my room is so dark it's like permanent nightfall. Really depressing and not sure how much difference it's made to the heat. All my plants are dying including the ones in the windowsill. I'm going to have to take it off and I hope it comes off easily but waste of time and money.”

We are very sorry that you are unhappy with the window film you ordered. but it seems that the issues you have had are not due to the film being faulty but due to fitting issues and not researching the film fully prior to buying it. The specifications for the film are available on the website and state that the visible light transmission will be 15% once the film is fitted which of course means that the room will be much darker which in turn may affect plants.
We always recommend you purchase a sample of any film prior to making a larger purchase to ensure you are happy with it, if you had done this you would have been aware that the film would darken your room.
Scratching will only occur if the fitting process isn't followed correctly, unless of course the film is faulty on arrival and if this was to happen we would ask a customer to email a picture so that we can replace it.

We are sorry that the film you fitted hasn't adhered properly in the corners of your windows. The only reason we have known this to happen is when there is paint on the glass which hasn't been scraped off before fitting the film or the it can also happen if the film hasn't been trimmed properly and is touching the frame/rubber.

“Although I followed the instructions, the product seemed difficult to install without creasing. Unfortunately once creased, it's ruined. I thought the product was too easily damaged seeing as the window wasn't even that large. Perhaps as a professional installer that is used to its behavior, would get it right, but not a newbie”
