“I'd never heard of Abode before, but found them online when looking for a frosted sheet to cover a large glass pane in a door. The price was reasonable, the delivery was quick and everything about the product screamed quality. The only disappointment was the lack of any instructions in the package, a long triangular cardboard tube which I gave a good shake to no avail. So I set about cutting the plastic to size (which was relatively easy as I only had to trim 10cm off the end of the roll with a Stanley knife). The next step was the really tricky bit. I'd only ever worked with static cling film frosting film before, which is quite easy to manoeuvre. You can simply peel it off if not happy with placement, and air bubbles are quite easy to smooths out with a soft cloth. But this stuff had adhesive on one side, and was a whole different ball game... imagine dealing with a gigantic strip of sellotape, 50cm wide x 2cm long, and trying to fix it into a precise position while all it wants to do is stick to itself, or the door frame, or the glass itself but in the wrong place... it was torture! The air bubbles don't shift either, because the adhesive keeps them stubbornly in place. Long story short, I gave it 3 attempts, and then went to bed exhausted from the epic battle. The next morning i decided the air bubbles looked too bad to be ignored, but no way was i prepared to wrestle with it yet again, especially as it now had some permanent creases on the film following the tussles from the night before. Feeling a mixture of disappointment and desperation, I took a pin and began using it to puncture the largest air bubbles and get the air out this way, with moderate success. Finally, after about 90 minutes of this, I decided that was as good as it was going to get, and left it alone. The final step was to break up the cardboard delivery tube for recycling. This is when i discovered the detailed instructions, plus a helpful tool, that described in detail how to affix the sheet properly to glass. The missing star from the review is because i cannot for the life of me understand why the instructions were tucked into the tube in such a way that they wouldn't fall out, even when shaken vigorously. Why on earth didn't you roll the instructions around the product tube itself?? This simple act could save a lot of heartbreak... 🙄”
We are so very sorry to hear that you didn't find the instructions until after fitting the film but we are pleased to hear that you did successfully fit the film after persevering. We only wish you had contacted us when you opened the package and couldn't find then as we could have emailed you a copy and made your life so much easier.

“I wanted a coloured film to cover the 3 small panes of glass to my front door and the adjacent side window to the hall as the sun shines through the glass and a coloured film would highlight this!
The courier was badly organised as I was only given 3 hour's notice of the time (and day) of delivery and the courier's timekeeping was very poor as the allocated time was altered mid-way through the given time slot to an early evening one - but that time came and went with no 'knock at the door'. It turned out the courier just left the package outside leaning against my front door with no intention of knocking (I guess to avoid a row?) so anyone could have taken the parcel!!
I deliberately chose an expensive film rather than a cheap one (as on ebay etc) and the quality of this one is good.
I faithfully followed the Instructions but found it difficult to trim the film once it was applied to the glass (as they tell you to cut it slightly over-size) but I eventually managed to get a good fit and I am really delighted with the effect.”

Firstly my apologies that your order didn't arrive when the courier gave you an allocated time slot.
The couriers are self employed and many factors could have arisen that day for them to change the delivery time, however it doesn't take much just to knock on the door and "hand " delivery your order.

“Good product especially if putting on a plain flat window/sheet of glass but if putting it on a Motorhome or caravan window with support stays and locking handles in the way, you need the window removed from the vehicle and the patience of a Saint!”
“Our second purchase of frosted window covers from Abode. Excellent quality, if a bit fiddly to fit even using cut to size. The reason for taking a star off was the recommendation to use tape to separate the protective cover. This removed the frosting as it was too sticky. I recommend using only one piece of tape (use the sticky label already on the sheet) on the disposable part in order to separate them.
If you use loads of liquid expect the film not to stick at the top and bottom until it’s drier. It is much easier to move but takes much longer to get perfect”
“I think this is a quality product. Because of its properties it is slippery to handle and I would recommend that one person steadies the product and the other cuts as it is difficult to do this accurately on your own. It's important not to allow the product to bend or the mark stays permanently when it's on the window. The film did move easily when put onto a soapy window and the tool provided is essential, again, two people make applying the film more manageable. The windows I applied it to are only 23" wide,I improved with practice.
The film does darken the room a little but for the privacy it provides and being able to take down the net curtains it is well worth this, I can at least see the garden now.”
“Great product, cut to size, with clear instructions. I was very pleased with the results. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is, as I used sticky tape to separate the backing film, the tape removed a small section of the pattern. But unless you know about it, you won't notice. Thank you.”

“I bought this window film for my living room bay window, as we were looking for extra privacy. I chose the made to measure option. Unfortunately, my order arrived damaged, due to not being packaged properly, which was of course very disappointing. However, customer services were happy to send a new set once I had sent a photo across. We love the look and finish but lost one star simply because of the inconvenience. Would reccomend!”
