DO NOT Buy this product if you want to keep your Hair!!!! This Hair product is not the same quality as used to be!! I used to Buy it in WholeFoods but not anymore. WholeFoods stop selling it. I only could find it on Amazon so I started to use it again. Since I started to use the product purchased on Amazon, my hair started to fall out like crazy. I just color my hair this evening and I cried!!! Sooo much hair come out!! I will never again purchase this product!! I used to loved Tints of Nature however, that was few years ago. I am not sure who this distributor is, but Tints of Nature is NOT the same quality. Therefore, for anyone who uses this product, be aware what it can do to your hair. I used to had so much hair, and since the last few month I started to used this product, it distorted my hair!!!

Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us a review. I’m very sorry to hear about your recent experience and a member of our Customer Care team will follow up with you directly via email to assist you further with this matter. To address the points in your review, each batch of our colour is thoroughly tested prior to sale to ensure it leaves our factory at the highest quality, and I can confirm we are the only manufacturer and distributor of Tints of Nature products selling to stores and retailers throughout the US. Although you have used our colours in the past, it is still possible to develop sensitivities to even the most natural of ingredients over time and for this reason we recommend carrying out a skin sensitivity test prior to every application of colour. However, our colours do not contain any ingredients which may contribute to hair loss and a typical sensitivity will not present itself with hair loss symptoms, rather as a rash or skin irritation. Therefore, I would strongly urge you to consult a medical professional for their guidance as hair loss is generally caused by hormonal changes. Please look out for my colleague's email where we can help you in more depth.

Used this product for a few years. I had to visit the GP today due to severe dermatitis on my scalp. Prescribed potent steroid lotion and antihistamines. Tints of nature contains strong sensitizers. Use with caution!!

Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us a review. I’m very sorry to hear that you have experienced a sensitivity to our colour but you’ve done the right thing by consulting your GP and I’m pleased to see that you’re already in contact with our Customer Care team. Although reactions to hair colourants are relatively rare, sensitivities to even the most natural of ingredients can develop at any point in a person’s life and for this reason we recommend carrying out a strand test prior to every application of colour. Our Customer Care team will follow up with you directly to assist you further.

Hi there, thanks for getting in touch! I am pleased to confirm that all of the Permanent shades in the Tints of Nature range are fully intermixable. However, the shade choice would depend on what result you are trying to achieve. If you are looking to maximise your grey coverage, our best recommendation would be to swap one of these shades in your suggested formula with the corresponding Natural ("N") shade - in this case, 6N - as our Natural shades are pigmented to deliver the best grey coverage. I hope this helps but if you have any further questions, please reach out at happyhair@tintsofnature.com and we'd be more than happy to help! 😀

I LOVED the old formula and mixed dark brown and medium chestnut brown for years. Since the formula changed I stopped using this brand. I have revisited it but am still disappointed with the new formula. The new formula colors have more orange tint to them. SO SAD!!! I bought every box of the old formula that I could find online. PLEASE bring back the old formula!!

Thanks for getting in touch! We're so sorry to hear that you aren't loving our Henna Cream colours as much as our previous semi-permanent range. The shades in the Henna Cream range are warm-toned by design as it's very tricky to formulate a high-performing Ash semi-permanent shade, but you might find that there's a shade in our Permanent colour range which better suits you. We would love to speak further with you to help with shade selection, so please do contact us at happyhair@tintsofnature.com.

Gentle on scalp. I like the colours. Dries my hair though. That is one con. I love that it is cruelty free.

Hi there! Thank you for your review. As our products are all natural and contain no silicones or plastic this can often reveal the true state of our hair. To help protect you hair from becoming dry we would recommend using our Hydrate Treatment. This will help to restore any lost moisture in the hair. If you would like to talk with us more on this please contact us at happyhair@tintsofnature.com

I had been using the Black/Noir in the red box and color turned out beautifully (if left on my hair for 1+ hours). The True Black new formulation turned my roots GREEN! I've never had that happen. Any ideas? For now, I'll try the Henna Creme dark brown.

Hello Kay, I am very sorry to hear about your recent experience with the Tints of Nature Henna Cream Black. Based on our customer feedback that the Henna Cream Black gave more of a Dark Brown result we have reformulated our Black to a new shade, if you were happy with the old shade then you can use the Henna Cream Dark Brown as this is now the old Balck shade. We would love to speak with you further to discuss this if you can please contact us at happyhair@tintsofnature.com

Hi there, we would love to chat with you to find out what went wrong with your colour as there is nothing in our colour formulation that would damage your hair. One possibility is that your hair may have been coated in silicones and/or product buildup which can disguise the tell-tale signs of damaged hair. These would have been somewhat removed when you used the Charcoal or Clarify preparation shampoo included, revealing the "honest" condition of your hair underneath. We have a wonderful range of highly effective treatments designed to repair hair from the inside out. If you would like to get in touch, we'd love to have a chat to identify which one your hair needs and send it out ASAP for you to try, many thanks, Tints of Nature team :)

I use to use the black in the red box. Lately I have been receiving the Intense Black in the Black Box which is really intense. Has the formula changed?

Hi there! Thank you for reaching out to Tints of Nature. I can confirm that this is a reformulation from our previous Black shade, based on feedback that the previous Henna Cream Black gave more of a Dark Brown result. If you preferred the previous result, I would recommend the new brown boxes of Henna Cream Dark Brown for future use, as these boxes now contain the previous Henna Cream Black formulation, again based on the feedback we received that it yields more of a warm-toned very dark brown result. If you have any questions or need any more information, please feel free to email us at happyhair@tintsofnature.com. Many thanks, the Tints of Nature team.

Hi there! Thank you for reaching out to Tints of Nature. We have a colour that is Light Golden Brown (5D). Our shades can lift up to 1-2 shades. So if your natural hair is dark brown, which we would class as a base 3, the 5D is a couple of shades lighter so this would be the advised shade to achieve your golden tones. It is important that a skin sensitivity test is carried out before every application, even if you have used our products prior. If you have any questions or need anymore information, please feel free to email us at happyhair@tintsofnature.com.

I think the idea of a natural hair dye with grey hair coverage is fab. I bought the golden brown as I have been using the same shade but from a high street brand. I have to say- it’s way darker like wow I’m basically a brunette now :( hopefully it washes out soon … not sure whether I left it on for too long? I really don’t want to go back to parabens etc but can’t go brunette either perhaps mixing it might help or applying a lighter shade?

Hi there, We are really sorry to hear that your first colour experience with us resulted in a much darker than expected result. We would love to offer some tips on how to make your next colour experience with us a fantastic one. Our colours do tend to be a little darker than other brands so I would suggest going one to two shades lighter for your next colour. We would also recommend doing a strand test before your colour application this will let you see the end result before committing to a full all-over colour. We would be happy to help you with choosing the correct shade for your next colour, please email us at happyhair@tintsofnature.com to chat further.

The first time I decided to color my hair myself I discovered and purchased Tints of Nature. I was initially a little scared, but I did it, and it worked! I love it! I have sensitive skin and thick dry curly hair. Your product leaves my hair soft, and easy to style and does not hurt my skin. When my hair began turning gray, I didn’t want to pay for expensive salons. With your product I have been able to match my natural hair color and am confident in doing it myself. Aside from the fact that you don’t include enough conditioner, I am truly happy with your product!

This is the only hair dye that doesn't make my scalp itch. It has a natural look and covers my (very) grey hair really well. I like that it's eco friendly too as far as hair tints go!

I started using color for the first time and I care fully choose this to avoid any reactions, but to my surprise reacted badly on my face as I was using color for my beard only. I am very disappointed with the product. I will never be using this or recommend anyone. however I know that there was a disclaimer saying if you have reactions discontinue and see a doctor. I will now. but every color or meds has that. It wasnt expected from a so called biological product.

Hi again Anonymous, We really are sorry that you've reacted to our products. Unfortunately, there is no way of making permanent colour 100% natural and even with natural ingredients people can have negative reactions. This is why we recommend a skin sensitivity test before every colour, which would alert you to any possible adverse reactions before you colour. Our colour is incredibly gentle and reactions are unusual. We would recommend you be extremely cautious colouring your hair with any brand moving forward as reactions can get worse over time. If you would like to discuss this further please don't hesitate to get in touch. Many thanks, the Tints of Nature team

My hair was dry and brittle after using this. I had severely matted and tangled hair. Took a long time to comb out. The conditioner packet is too small . It was like a teaspoon of conditioner. That's like enough for my bangs only. Will not buy again. Very upset. It is so damaging. I have so much breakage . My hair looks like trash. I had to cut my long hair into a lob.

I have been dyeing my hair hazelnut blonde for two years using another brand but the color fades too quickly. I saw Tints of Nature at a local health food store and decided to try it. I bought the 6N Natural Dark Blonde formula which looked similar in color to my old brand. Even though my old color had faded to a medium blonde, this product dyed my hair DARK BROWN to almost BLACK. The conditioner was thick and lumpy, and not sufficient even to cover my fairly short hair. Maybe I purchased outdated product? To make matters worse, by the time I used the charcoal shampoo and the after-coloring shampoo (shampooing twice each time according to directions), my scalp was very dry and itchy even though I had no reaction to the skin test. The color does seem to be reasonably resistant to fading as I have been using non-color safe shampoo for several washes to lighten the color and it is still darker than I wanted. With my old brand I could color twice with one box. The Tints of Nature is a smaller amount, so there is too much for one application but not enough for two. I probably won't try Tints of Nature again.
