“I just completed the level 5 TEFL course (168 hours) and fully recommend it. I found the material interesting and up to date. There were many examples of where to find material that can be used in teaching English as a foreign language.”

“I began the my level 5 course with TEFL Academy during my final year of high school. I chose this course provider because it was the most reasonably priced and had good reviews. I'm grateful for having had my first online learning experience with TEFL Academy as the website was easy to navigate (on a PC, tablet and phone), and the course materials were interesting and eye-opening without being too challenging. The little tests in the units and the end-of-unit tests were good for revising my knowledge. They also don't take long to complete. I also appreciate towards the online tutors and support staff who responded to my queries relatively quickly, even during busy periods. They responded politely and were always helpful. I recommend adopting a good work ethic, allocating a certain amount of time a day/week to the course, and holding yourself to it if you want to finish the course with ease. If you have no background or a vague understanding of the field of education, this course might be eye-opening. I've just begun to understand how much work goes into planning a lesson and determining which approaches should be taken when teaching different students for example.”

“I just recently completed the Level 5 TEFL Course and found it really well laid out. The alternative I was considering before I signed up would have been a PDF document to go through the learning material, but I'm so glad I went with The TEFL Academy as their online system was so much more fun to go through. Their online learning platform is really nicely done, guides you step by step through the material and lets you progress at your own pace. The only drawbacks I found were that some of the questions to revise the material were just far too simple, the assignment instructions could be explained better, well in a simpler manner - it took me a while to find out exactly what to do, which documents to use etc. and also that some tutor feedback was fairly minimal or didn't really make sense and there's no way (I haven't found one) to contact your tutor directly, i.e. a support ticket needs to be opened. So these are not necessarily points to criticise, but to point out some room for improvement. In general, as mentioned above, I really enjoyed the whole journey and would choose The TEFL Academy again. If you still have any doubts ... simply go for it, it's fun!”

“I thought I’ll lose interest given that the course was online. But when I started and saw how organized and engaging the content was, I was inspired to keep going and finish it the least possible time that I can. I was able to revise my basic knowledge of the English language and learned new things. I’ve recommended the course to friends because of how happy I am about it. Thank you!”

“I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with the level 5 168h hour course. The units are easy to understand while still giving a very in depth overview of both the English language and teaching EFL. The quizzes and activities throughout the online course are very helpful to make sure you understood the content. Similarly, the in class time was invaluable and my only regret is not having done more of the online units before hand, especially because advice in terms of the assignments would have been very helpful. The assignments, while good practice, did seem repetitive and at times I was unsure what they wanted from me. Overall, it was a very positive experience, and I would highly recommend it!”

“I have purchased many TEFL courses but this is the first one that I actually finished. The 168 hour level 5 course is well laid out and easy to navigate. The short unit tests were easy to complete as well. I throughly enjoyed the assignments as they were quite challenging and really made you think as if you were a teacher already. I was also so nervous for the 20 hour in class course as I’m an introvert but it went beyond my expectations. It was very informative and really helped with understanding the assignments and what is expected of me as a future teacher. I would highly recommend this course to anyone.”

“I enjoyed most of my experience with the Level 5 and online courses, and thank the Academy for opportunity. However, I believe I read that I will not have access to the coursebook after a period of time, which, if true, I find quite unhelpful. Is this practice usual with online courses? I could be mistaken, but in my opinion, once you pay for a course of study, you should be able to refer back to the materials indefinitely.”

“The TEFL Course is very well done! It's clear and complete and you have the possiblity of checking your knowledge over and over again. The material such as exercieses, videos, examples was great and well structured. I enjoyed this course! The Support Staff and were exceptional, always there when I need help.”

“it was a good experience and i learnt alot more about teaching than i thought i would. planning lessons and structure was useful. the only thing i would say is the lack of communication with real people is difficult whether that be the examiner of an assignment or other students doing the same course. it would have been nice to interact”

“The course was interesting and well structured. I enjoyed the variety of tasks. It is very general and I am now doing my own study to teach online. I would have liked more on Total Physical Response as this seems to be very desirable in the American online schools. I really enjoyed the 2 day face-to-face part of the course.”

“I think the TEFL academy is the next best thing to getting real life teaching experience when it comes to preparing you for the classroom. I already had a linguistics degree but wanted to complete a TEFL Certificate to refresh my knowledge. What I really appreciated was learning how to lesson plan as this was something I’d never had exposure to before but will be so helpful when I start teaching in Japan this September.”

“The TEFL Academy offer a comprehensive course that covers both the technical and practical parts of English Language Teaching. The online material is easily digestible with a user face that is easy to understand and navigate. The course structure ensures you learn and understand each level of content and I was able to get through the course completely independently at my own pace.
