“We had a good week at Orchard Retreat in Devon. The accommodation was good, the only fault we had was the cupboards and drawers were dusty, the cutlery drawer also had crumbs in it.”
“Booking process was fine, but when I wanted to raise some issues about my holiday (not a complaint as such, just a few things that made the holiday accommodation disappointing) I was directed to use the complaints system. When I queried this, the customer service 'agent' didn't seem to understand or offer any alternative option. It would be great to be able to speak to a real person or at least have some way to feed back issues to the property owner without writing a negative review that might deter future bookings.”

“Very well appointed, immaculate cottage in great location. Cosy lounge, comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen. We didn't use the big rolltop bath in the main bathroom - it really needs grabrails for safer entry and egress. The en-suite shower was fine. Great to sit out at the patio table as the sun went down, with the river rushing by in the valley below. We were blessed with marvellous weather - six days of sun and no rain makes Wales unbeatable if you can get it!”
“Once again. The cottage lived up to its specification. The cottage itself met up to all our needs. However I have arthritis and find the climb to the cottage more of a challenge lately. But the view was well worth it. And once again we were blessed with glorious sunshine. A lovely time was had by us all. Thank you.”

1. Noise from pub next door on Friday eve is unacceptable.
2. No spare waste bin liners
3. Is there a fire policy as neither the front door to apartment or main entrance door to hall meet current regulations.”

The location is a perfect balance, as its both quiet and remote enough to be a real getaway, but close enough to access all of the highlights of the stunning Cairngorms national park. “Sykes Holiday Cottages have always been my preferred company to use for booking self catering holidays but I am now disappointed with the fact that people who don't want to use the app are being discriminated against. Offers are being given to the people who wish to use the app but not those using the old web site method.”
