“Had a very enjoyable stay. Location is remote but only 10 min drive to Llangollen. Host respect your privacy but on hand and supportive if needed. Cottage is rustic and melts into its environment. Will definitely rebook.”
“A wonderful stay. Cottage was spotlessly clean, cosy and very tastefully decorated. The icing on the cake was the parking space. Wish we could have stayed longer.”
“We really like using Sykes Cottages and have been using them for many years. We find the descriptions are accurate, instructions always helpful and easy to book.”
“We had a fabulous few days at The Annex in Wimbourne in late November 2025.
Very comfortable furniture - although a king size bed would have made a real difference - we are used to a superking bed - so a double seems very small when I am used to my own space!
Perfect place for bringing the dog.
Met the owners - who were lovely people.
Would love to stay again - but will check whether the Cottage on the same site has a bigger bed first.”
“We had a family emergency, Sykes could not have been more unhelpful, shocking lack of compassion. Luckily the owner did help us directly.
I will never book with Sykes again, horrible company.”
“Sykes HelpLine answered our call promptly following our arrival at a freezing cold property on a cold Friday afternoon. The problem was a simple one to resolve and the owner was able to summon a plumber in the early evening. However, the response did leave me with some 'what if' questions. I got the distinct impression that if the owner hadn't been available there was nothing further that could be done to help us. We were 4 hours from home and, due to health problems, one of our party could not have spent the night in a house that had not been heated for several days. This has made us more cautious about winter self-catering breaks.”
“Well appointed and comfortable. We particularly liked having sofas and dining areas that gave everyone a comfortable seat. Kitchen well appointed too. The location is excellent for exploring on foot and by car.”
“One of the best places we have stayed in our many trips to Ireland. The house was cozy, comfortable and very well appointed (equiped). It had more than enough pots, pans, etc for us to cook without any problems. The owners were very responsive to our questions and made sure that we had everything we needed. I would definitely stay here again!”
“We had a very comfortable warm 5 night stay at this perfectly located cottage . Loads of lovely dog walks straight out of the door . Very handy to be in the centre of the village . We were welcomed with some lovely treats which was a great start thank you . Having an enclosed space for the dogs makes it easy to manage , there was everything we could need in the kitchen . The cottage has got a steep stairs but it is well lit at night to navigate the step across to the loo . The bed was comfortable and there is a toilet upstairs and downstairs . Thank you for sharing your local knowledge about restaurants and pubs . We would love to come back .”
“Our second visit to Stewart House as we loved it so much due to its perfect location. In the centre but on a quiet street. Super comfy beds, very well equipped kitchen, lovely sitting rooms, perfect for our group who love their own bedroom. Another fantastic stay”
“A great location and a very comfortable cottage, even though parking 2 cars was a challenge, at least we had parking. The cottage was well equipped and great for our family get together.”
“I stayed for 2 weeks in November 2025. It was cold outside but the cottage stayed nice and warm with the heaters on. The bed is super comfy! The kitchen appliances work well, though the microwave has internal rust and needs to be replaced. The only down side is the lack of smart TV or a set-top box which meant the long evenings at home were spent looking for something decent to watch on free-to-air TV - not inspiring at all. The owner is really kind and provided me with a cosy woollen blanket to watch tv when the temp dropped to zero!”
