“The Engine Shed is a fabulous place to stay. Well appointed, very clean and ideal for access to the centre of Shrewsbury on foot.
3 different pubs to visit within around 250 metres (not intrusive to the property so do not worry about their proximity).
Very peaceful and quiet neighbourhood.
Highly recommend staying here.”
“The cottage is warm and welcoming with comfortable furniture and beds. The view from the front windows down to the bay is outstanding and the welcome pack was generous. However, we did have a problem when we arrived with the cottage not having been serviced. Bedlinen and towels were not taken away and beds not made. The problem was quickly solved after a phone call to the emergency phone number.
Some small changes can make the cottage even better. More ovenproof dishes would be useful. A socket in the kitchen didn’t work so we had to move the microwave to a socket which worked.
I would warn elderly people with mobility problems and families with young children that the stairs are steep and the top treads mean that coming out of the bathroom there is a step straight down the stairs.”
“The cottage and the location was amazing, with plenty of space for 8 people and 3 dogs. Under floor heating was brilliant and the games room for our lads was very good.
Couple things let the cottage down, cleanliness of the property wasn't brilliant, little bit grubby in places- needs a deep clean. Out side patio lights not working so had to go out side at night using flash lights when taking dogs. TVs in bedrooms- not all working..
All in all tho we had a fantastic time with family and would consider a return in the future”
“Fantastic stay in a beautiful cottage! We had a wonderful time, everything was perfect! The Christmas Decorations & welcome hamper were such a treat! The photos of the cottage really don’t to it justice! It’s so spacious. Plenty of room for 8 adults. The 2 living rooms & 2 dining rooms offered so much versatility. We enjoyed experimenting with Aga cooking but we glad of the conventional oven as back up! There is a cafetière for coffees. Bath & hand towels provided but take your own beach towels. Hosts were quick to reply with answers to any questions. 1 min walk to the Steam Railway. Very nice pub in the village. We had a brilliant New Year, I bet it’s even more beautiful in the summer!”
“Used Sykes at least once a year since Covid and we’ve always had a great time in some great locations and great cottages. High standard and well equipped- mind, I think you do pay for what you get 😉.
Photo shows the latest apartment on Whitby - beautiful.”
“Excellent accommodation - only a couple of minor points - not enough crockery especially glasses for a lodge that can sleep 6 - only 2 glasses above tumbler size. Outside lighting is poor and makes entry and exit from the lodge a challenge. Apart from that great location and accommodation.”
“Straight forward website to use, have found the whole system quite efficient and any house we have stayed at has been reliably presented. We have had good stays at any cottage we chose.”
“The cottage was very clean and well presented with a Christmas, which was a lovely surprise. The grounds around the cottage were beautiful and it was very peaceful. I couldn't fault the cottage because it had everything we needed and it was close to local amenities. We had a lovely relaxing stay and I would highly recommend it.”
“Thank you for a really amazing time in this perfect, clean, cosy home from home cottage. We loved the goats and pig just outside the back door. The owners are really lovely, friendly and on hand if you need anything, without ever being intrusive. The location is also fantastic, we loved walking along the Cleveland Way on the cliff tops. We will be back!”
“Fabulous property. We would say brand new. Everything in the property appeared to be new. The bed was really comfy. Local shop and pub just outside the front door.
Lots of places nearby to go. Kendal,Windermere and much more.
Thanks for a great break.”
“BeckHythe cottage in Overstrand was excellent for our group of 14. Loads of room and plenty of showers/wc.
Positioned beautifully in the centre of the village close to the beach and more importantly a brilliant t pub in the White Horse”
“We stayed at south lakes leisure park capenwray number 4 over new year. I took my mum and dad who are in there 80s. It was lovely, the lodge was very clean and had all the amenities you need. The lodge had a lovely balcony with views of the lake.
I can honestly say everyone on the site were very welcoming.
Will definitely be booking again”
“The photos of this place do not do it justice! It’s absolutely huge, so spacious and immaculately kept. The owners were really accommodating with check in times, made sure all our needs were met with an infant in the party and we were greeted with freshly baked bread which went down an absolute treat! Loads of little touches that made the stay so enjoyable. Thank you, would recommend this house to everyone!”
“We had such a lovely stay in Hengoed and really appreicate the effort that was gone to in bringing some lovely Christmassy touches to the home; it was an incredibly cosy place to spend Christmas and we hope to come again in future years!”
“Staying at Little Pontus was a dream. The property was spacious, warm and beautifully decorated throughout with huge attention to detail. Shari was wonderful and made us feel incredibly welcome from the start.
The secure grounds offered a great space for our dog to roam freely and we had some lovely local walks.
I would certainly recommend this accommodation, thank you😀”
“The house was fantastic, literally across the road from the shop. Huge space & clean had lots of kitchen supplies. Very accommodating also had baby high chair & travel cot which come in handy”
