“Very easy to find on sat nav, brought us straight to door.
House was very spacious and well equipped. Garden great for dog and plenty of walks near by.
The only thing negative was could possibly do with some new bath towels. But this is a tiny issue and by no means deterred from our great stay.”
“we booked a cottage at Higher Whidden well (Devon) for one week then noctice 5 nights was available to extend our stay, Sykes charged me two mounts of bookng fees for just extended our one weeks holiday, dont know of any other holiday rentals would do this.”
“Cottage was lovely and clean and everything from food welcome pack to bedding was all top quality, keys were easy to access via key safe next to front door, heating and hob/cooker etc all easy to use and worked ok and owners were very helpful if there were any questions.
Village lovely with a very atmospheric old church and churchyard and we heard an owl which must have been very close to cottage and which hooted for around half an hour, all in all a very pleasant stay, only one slight downside was there was a neon light flashing all night on another property in back and which illuminated in major en suite bedroom.”
“These glamping pods are gorgeous , me and my girlfriend couldn’t have asked for anything nicer with the facilities that were provided. Menna had provided me with a package for my girlfriends birthday and set up balloons to set the tone along with some fairy lights around the bed at an extra cost. Everything was clean and ready for us when we arrived alongside a breakfast package that was waiting in the fridge upon arrival. Super easy contactless key collection which meant we could arrive when we were able to and get into the pre-heated hot tub. The location is brilliant if you wish for a a quiet relaxed atmosphere away from the world, the night sky is gorgeous especially when taking a photo using night mode. If possible we definitely will be returning would rate it more stars if possible”
“We have rented a number of cottages of sykes and this was another great one. It was as described and gave us a very comfortable holiday. It was in a great location for the train and bus station which made it even better because we only use public transport on holoday.”
“What a lovely break. I was exhausted when I arrived and was looking for a retreat where I could relax and recharge. Carol's homemade cake was wonderful and there were other treats and thoughtful touches that made the stay very special. Jester, my King Charles spaniel was beside himself with excitement every time we visited the paddock, nose to the ground absorbing all the new scents. The trains are a surprise at first - it's fascinating to realise that the mill buildings were there long before railway lines were even thought of - but they soon become part of life's rhythm. And I especially loved sitting in the outdoor dome, protected from the weather while watching the changing light move across the hills and trees.”
“We were delighted with Blindwell House, which met all our needs and more. Amazingly comfortable sofas, throws and cushions adding perfectly to the cozy atmosphere of the living room alongside the wood-burner. Also really lovely bedrooms, everything to high standards, all made for a brilliantly restful week.
The owners were particularly kind, and generous with welcome “goodies” for both 2- and 4-legged visitors, as well as providing a stack of information/maps/leaflets about all the beautiful and historical places nearby. Highly recommended!”
“Had a made up claim against us under the Good housekeeping bond.Despite 9 calls & evidence to the contrary Sykes just went with what the owners said which was a pack of lies.
Will never ever book with Sykes again.We are £118 out of pocket.Hope the crooks of owners enjoy their nice new microwave & set of towels that we paid for.Shocking horrible people.I hope they can live with themselves.”
