“The Byre was an absolute delight. Loads of wildlife just the other side of the glass door.
Perfect hosts Phillip Kirsten and Rossie and the delightful Dottie. Loads of places to explore beaches landmarks and beautiful scenery. Can't wait to visit again.”
“We have about 4 holidays a year with Sykes and recently had to cancel one booked for this coming November due to very sad personal reasons. I was told I would loose all the money I had paid which was a good few hundred pounds, there was no listening to me or understanding. The week we had booked has now been taken by someone else.
My point here is why should the owner, or Sykes benefit twice for this week, I believe that if our week could not be re-booked then yes I loose my money but if it gets booked again and paid for again, which it has, then why shouldn't I recieve my money back? Minus an admin fee maybe!!!
I would like to hear why this is and who profits from situations like this and not just the usual policy response.
Show some compassion, it's not all about profit, or is it??”
“Cottage was exactly as described, really comfy beds and nice and warm. The cottage was well stocked with everything you need for a great stay and in a stunning location. There was good communication from the owner about access and the pub 4 doors away was lovely.”

“Cottage was well equiped and was spotlessly clean, steps leading down were not as steep as I thought from the pictures, although care needed, we are both in our 70's and we managed o.k. On the negative side outside light over front door did not work, and there was no vistitors book to leave comments or recomendations in, We would recommend "Belluno's" Italian and the Chinese takeaway, down the footpath,turn right at the road,( cash only ) big portions !!”
“Lovely apartment..very tastefully decorated with gorgeous curtains and blinds. Original artwork displayed which was a lovely feature. Kitchen very well equipped with lovely pottery. Generous with loo rolls, dishwasher tablets, cleaning supplies. Divine smelling shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and handwash in each bathroom. Fantastic views from lounge and all bedrooms, the back bedroom having a balcony with 2 recliner chairs..ideal to watch the sunset. The only things that let the apartment down was the extremely uncomfortable settee and chairs in the lounge area which was disappointing, after a good walk it is always nice to sit in comfort..and this was not comfortable seating. We were only a group of 3 and didn’t understand where a group of 6 people would sit on an evening. The TV was extremely small too…it was a smart tv which was great ..but trying to watch a film in the evening was challenging.”
