“We have been to a few Sykes cottages now ,but Innybrook Burrow cottage marked as a 5 star was a bit disappointing. In every room round windows doors and skirting boards was black mould. Some of the floors needed hoovering .A dressing gown and disposable slippers do not make it a 5 star ,with 5 star prices.Although it was not the time of year to sit in the garden it was ankle deep in wet leaves with an outdoor mat that was absolutely sodden with water .”

“We stayed at Wren Cottage for the second time over the New Year. The cottage was just as lovely as our first visit and we would thoroughly recommend it. The cottage is well situated for the town centre, theatre, restaurants and relaxing walks by the river.

“Absolutely amazing. The hosts are lovely people, very welcoming and kind. The extras were a lovely touch, even though I didn't indulge in the lovely bottle of wine left for us. The property is outstanding. Warm, spotlessly clean and so relaxing. We didn't want to leave. I can totally see why it gets booked up all year round. It was honestly one of the most comfortable, relaxing stays we've ever had in the Lake District. Just wish I'd booked for longer, but will hopefully return one day. “This is a lovely cottage, which has all amenities, has a large secure garden for dogs, and is well-appointed and equipped, clean and nicely decorated throughout. There is so much space and easily accommodated 6 of us. It was home from home.
It is close to both Kirby Stephen and Appleby and there are lovely walks nearby.
The owners were really helpful and welcoming and were available anytime if we needed.”
