Customer service/inquiries after booking made, completely hopeless. Took 2 days to speak to a human and when I did I had no confidence in what he told me.
The Whatsapp (probably AI?) was a total waste of time and I guess is a bit of a Joke?”
“Lovely lodge. Nice and homely with great views from the deck. Loved the welcome gift on arrival. May be user error but couldnt get some of the jets working on the hot tub.
The only thing we werent a fan of was there are no footpaths to walk anywhere so had to drive to everything but wasnt a problem.
Just be careful opening the windows. The birds seem to like above the windows to build a nest. We loved watching them all week building a little home”
“I like Sykes Cottages, plenty of choice, most of the descriptions are accurate, read past the 1 star reviews of a property some people are never happy.
Prices ... well normally cheaper than "booking" with other companies:))”

A wonderful stay in a great hidden gem! The chapel is nothing but perfection in our eyes- incredibly spacious and has everything you need upon arrival.

“This is the 2nd time I’ve booked through Sykes cottage’s & both times have been amazing the only disappointment this time was no complimentary welcome pack on arrival we had a Tesco delivery arriving on the day of arrival but not until later on that day so a welcome pack would have been lovely to have a coffee after our journey to the cottage. I booked in 2024 & we had a lovely welcome pack with milk, bread, biscuits, which was a lovely surprise”
“The choice of properties at Skyes Holiday Cottages is very good throughout the UK. However none if these properties seems to match up to their perfect description on the website and are often poorly maintained by the owners or have onsite facilities like beds or lounge seating that should of been thrown away years ago. We find years old cobwebs at many so you know the cleaner does not do their job properly. Considering there is 6 hours between departure and arrival of guests the property should be pristine. Some are missing basic kitchen utensils, the last one we stayed at had no tea towels (not everybody uses dishwashers only). Also on one September holiday the owner or cleaner had left some windows open so the property was full of large house spiders which took me 3 days to get rid of, plus dealing with a wife who is terrified of them. Lastly the prices are far to high especially considering the condition of some. The owners want to much money in high season which is why they are not always fully booked. People cannot afford nowadays the prices and in my opinion if the rental was lowered and the properties properly maintained you would more likely have full booking.”
