“I can only talk from 1 experience of a divorce, but I would not recommend Stowe. However I have nothing to compare them to. What I found was the following: they added in unnecessary steps which, when challenged, they said could be removed (why add them in then?). There were incidences of unnecessary emails, despite my requests due to the cost e.g. I asked to sign a copy then for it to go to my Ex, but they actually did several further back and forth steps with the other solicitors, asking them to provide a clean copy instead of us just sending it. They chased things that did not yet need chasing, and when I was waiting for a document, didn’t tell me they had had it for weeks. At one point they suggested I move to someone else who was cheaper in billable hours – which I did. Why they had not suggested earlier I do not know, I didn’t realise there was a choice having never hired a solicitor before. They also accidentally emailed Me instead of an internal colleague saying I was “moaning” – so professional….. So overall I felt they were over priced, went over budget, for a not great experience or service, and created extra steps and cost at every turn.”

“Poor service from beginning to end. My only thought was for the amount of money paid was very poor. To be told that it would not cost any more and constantly asking for more. On one occasion I was told I had paid to much and I would be awarded a credit but to no avail more money was asked of after a email confirming no more was payable. It is a company I would not personally recommend.”
