Delivery - great, arranged a day I knew I could receive it. Price - OK, took advantage of small discount. Other companies charge a lot more for measuring and fitting, but here's the rub: Customer service closed over Christmas period (fine) but then not open until 12th January. Every time I spoke to the phone 'bot' I got an email back asking for more information, very frustrating when I just needed to speak to a real person. For a big 4m x 2m blind the fitting instruction video was not adequate. Nothing comes with paper instructions for a) fitting and installing the blind b) setting the remote. Issues: * easy to contact and speak to someone to buy the blind, no verbal contact since * for a big blind: inadequate fitting and NO installation instructions * no mention of how many people needed to fit such a big blind (as it needs to be fitted as one unit, and is heavy) * I was told that someone with average DIY would be fine with fitting and installing this, when in fact AI said there are clearly things that Joe Average would not be aware of, and is often best fitted by professional installers. The video on the webpage showing a small blind being connected (not installed) - even that doesn't show the two white side blocks being connected - needed to function the blind. Would definitely recommend watching the troubleshooting videos before attempting to install. Oh - and for a split piece side-rail - expect it to be pre-programmed to only go half way! Obviously!

disappointing really didn't have pre drilled holes it should have a instruction leaflet with the product,apart from this the product is quite good

The blinds arrived earlier than expected, unfortunately without the screws or remote control. Then closed for 2 weeks for Christmas so a little frustrating

Blinds were fine found it quite difficult to seal around frame to complete blackout but eventually it was fine, blind movement very good and very easy to monuver altogether satisfied with purchase

Good delivery time all fitted but I have actually dimensions and they would have fitted correctly,but an allowance was made by skylight and now I have a gap on one end I have to make up somehow,for what it cost it should have been perfect !

We ordered their blackout blinds for our loft windows. The description says '100% thermal blackout fabric', which I think is misleading because while it does efficiently keep out the light it doesn't really keep much heat out on hot days. The room is as hot as it was before the blinds were fitted, so it's disappointing from that aspect. We were expecting a silver foil backing or a foil layer within the fabric, to help repel the heat, but they don't - just a light coloured reverse side of the blind. When you feel the blind when it is down on a hot day it feels just as hot as the glass.

Hi Suzanne. Our roof blinds are thermal but I suspect you are not using them correctly. You need to make sure that the blind is closed all day during the summer or the room will heat up. The fabric has a white thermal backing which reflects the heat off the back of the fabric before the heat comes into the room. If the heat is already in the room and then you close the blind the heat will be trapped in the room. Thanks Naomi

Our skylight blind was east to fit and worked perfectly, however, now we are unable to retract the blind as it appears to have come off the ‘runner’

We bought a tension blind for a small flat skylight. The product is well priced but you get what you pay for. Quality is ok, not great but it works! The pole that you open and close it with is large and clumsy but does the trick.

Blinds are good but the instructions to mount the side profiles are very poor. Plus no fixings and the sticky tape dosent hold it needs to be screwed

Hi there sorry for any misunderstanding but the tape is just meant to hold for 30 seconds or so whilst you are using the screw driver to put in the screws these blinds need screws to stay up not just tape. Thanks Naomi ps I will take a look at the instructions as you said they are difficult to understand and I will make this bit clearer. Sorry about the issue
Installation details consists of very poor drawings. Asking the manufacturer in Ireland for some guidance the reply was nothing to do with us contact Skylights !!! Was going to buy another for my lounge but it will not be through Skylights

Customer service was good but the blind is not great for the price, it doesn’t stay all the way down no matter what we do so there is always an inch of light shining through in the morning which wakes us up in our otherwise darkened bedroom

Good website, product quality average,great after sales assistance that tried hard to rectify recurring fault. Product electrical motor and solar assembly returned as requested for full refund. Postage was to be refunded for returned items alas that never happened I assume it was not intentional.

I had trouble with customer services when returning a faulty blind. I was as refused several times before checking my legal rights regarding online purchases after which I returned the faulty item and they covered they cost of postage. After which, I reordered a blind from them that was not faulty and which fits the window and is of good quality. The blinds are good value as well. However their returns policy needs to be reviewed in line with online purchasing rights in the UK. (these were not made to measure blinds but standard sizes for velux style windows).

A wireless, remotely controlled, insulating DIY blind for a skylight lantern ceiling, seems like a very good idea. This product is well-engineered with good customer service but it arrived with the blind incorrectly fitted into the cassette and a hexagonal drive shaft 2cm too short. This required two separate installation sessions using a tower platform to get it all working correctly. In the summer it shields bright sunlight well for TV viewing, and in winter stops a cold downdraft. On the downside, condensation above can lead to moisture dripping down and staining the blind and mould growing on the lantern itself. Flying insects need to be excluded from the room as when trapped above, their dead bodies are difficult to remove. In summary an ambitious DIY project with some unexpected complications.

The Blind was slightly short in length for my Fakro skylight window. However, managed to pack it out a little and it is fine now
