Arrived earlier than expected, easier to assemble than expected, just click the four corners together and secure the locking screw, pressed the remote and carried out a trial test. Perfect. It’s a two person job to install it into the recces. Second person required for five minutes if that. Looks nice and works well.

Absolutely DISGUSTING behaviour from Naomi in customer service. I needed new batteries for the remote for the electric blinds and now she is holding them hostage unless I amend my review and LIE stating that the blinds work perfectly. In the 2 months we have had them the blinds have broken 3 times - we bought a new blind and cannot even install it because their installation guides look like a toddler drew them up in school. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!!

Hi Mia I am so sorry that you feel this way. The blinds that you are refering to are over 4 years old and bought by the previous owner of your house. We have tried to help you even though the blinds are out of warranty and not bought by you (our warranties are not transferrable). We offered to send you out 2 x batteries free of charge at our expense to Sweden and asked you to revise your review kindly as you are the first person who has said that "our instructions look like they have been written by a toddler". We feel we have been very helpful and polite and we have gone above and beyond and it has not been recipricated. We are extremely pleased with our Motorised blind, which is installed in our kitchen diner lantern. The measurements were spot-on and I found the installation instructions straightforward and easy to follow, especially backed up with videos. The blind has made a huge difference to the ambience and temperature, especially during winter nights and evenings. If you partially open the blind you can feel a rush of colder air coming down. I recommend this company.

Excellent pre-sales service. I was able to speak to someone who understood and answered my questions. Never had to deal with anyone just reading from a script, which makes a nice change these days. The estimated time for supply was up to 5 weeks, but it was delivered much faster than that. My only slight problem was that the fitting video makes it look far too easy to clip the blind into the A1 profile. The clips are a VERY tight fit and require a lot of effort to clip in. The blind has to go into the bottom of each clip first, but the presence of the B profiles prevents you tilting it. If the top levers on the clips were a bit longer, it would be possible to push them back to make getting into the bottom of the clips easier. I presume the chap in the video has some kind of knack due to having done it many times. Also, the tension on the cables makes getting the other end into the A3 profile very difficult. Again, it needs a great deal of strength to get it clipped in, and doing so standing on a stepladder that's trying to move backwards (I think Newton's 3rd law has something to do with it) doesn't help. But with perseverance it eventually goes together. Now the blind is installed it works nicely.

The product is fine, but the thing that really made Skylightblinds Direct stand out from their competitors was that they helped me identify my Velux window type even though it lacked the plates that are supposed to indicate this.

The blind arrived quite quickly. But after fitting does not run smoothly. After calling the company was told wld be rung back by technical. Nothing yet, just a suggested vidio to watch!! After requesting to SPEAK to someone.

Hi Elizabeth I think that the customer services team wanted you to try the trouble shooting video before anyone from technical got involved. As trouble shooting is always the first step.
The Blind was slightly short in length for my Fakro skylight window. However, managed to pack it out a little and it is fine now

All parcels were received on time and as expected. I was surprised to note that the only parts apparently made in the UK were some cut and (poorly) painted aluminium angle pieces. The actual blinds appeared to be manufactured in Dubai. I have no real problem with this, the one we have fitted works ok, although the remote control programming is a bit of a challenge and entirely unnecessary in our case. we just want a simple open and close control. They are not only self install, but also self assemble. not a problem really except that I feel for what you get, the pricing is pushing it somewhat. They should also make it clear that they are not the manufacturers, as they seem to suggest, but just a distributor.

Hi Michael thanks so much for your feedback. I am so sorry that you thought the quality of the angles was not up to standard I am so sorry about this. This is the first we have heard of this and we could have sent you new angles if we would have known. We do assemble and test the blinds in the factory but it is impossible to send the blinds fully assembled in transit. The blinds are made to measure but flat pack because of transit. We do not manufacture the blinds in house but work with factories all over the UK and abroad exclusively to offer you our specified product for your roof windows at a value for money price cutting out the expense of a blind fitter. With regards to the remote control the blinds are programmed and limits are set in the factory but sometimes things can change during transit and that is why we are here to help you over the phone.
I purchased a Lantern LITE Openview which I must say I am extremely happy with. However when the item was delivered it was so well (and tightly) packed that I had some difficulty unpacking it. In the process of unpacking I accidentally nicked the cord. I actually contacted Skylightblinds twice to get a replacement cord. Both times I was told that a package had been posted. To this day I have never seen either of those packages. I ended up ordering some blind cord from good old Amazon got it the next day and got the blind fitted. In short blind 5*, customer service 0*.

I had been looking for blinds to fit in a skylight at my home since before Covid. No company wanted to help, I never had replies until Skylightblinds Direct. I emailed them and withing a few hours I had a reply with direct links to what I needed. I ordered these blinds and within a few days they arrived. Now installed extremely simple to anyone with even minimal D.I.Y skills, they looks fantastic and perform beyond expectations 99.99999% blackout. Couldn't be happier. Thanks Guys.

From start to finish I have been extremely pleased with both the service and product quality I have received. I opted to fit this item myself and as a reasonably competent DIY’er I had some reservations about fitting my blind. The pre-sales help Naomi provided was excellent, with prompt and comprehensive responses to questions asked, backed up by easy to follow video clips. Great product - backed up by a helpful service and full support. 10/10!
