We have normally experienced good service but unfortunately this year this was not the case. Our original application was filed on 2nd March 2022 however we did not have a responce until 25th. Our SafeContractor year ended 31st March. Between clients harassing us for our renewal and SafeContractors lack of response, we were in danger of losing contracts by the 19th of April all was well. This time scale is unacceptable. SafeContractoe makes the rules for both client and contractor, the least they can do is facilitate keeping those rules

SafeContractor is the worst company that we have the misfortune to deal with but our hands are tied because some of our clients insist on SafeContractor accreditation. Hhopefully they will change their mind one day.

I'm so frustrated with safe contractor, every year we submit the infomation the certificate expires by many days and then someone contacts us after the expiry date to request further information. We pay money for a service that is shoddy and unprofessional, I have no problems answering the questions of safe contractor, but I expect them to be asked prior to the expiry date of our certificate and not after. Its embarrasing to us as a compnay when we can't provide the certificate requested by clients. Unfortunatly no matter how many times i point this out safe contractor ignore it.

Hi ESH Installation Ltd, Thank you for your feedback. We truly value the insights we receive from our customers, and in response to your feedback, we've made an improvement. Previously, you could submit the renewal questionnaire 30 days before your expiry date. Now, we've extended that window to 60 days before expiry, giving you an additional 30 days to complete the submission. We hope this change makes a positive difference as you prepare for next year! Best regards, SafeContractor

I have been a member for 15 years and this is the worst experience of the accreditation process ever. The portal was an absolute nightmare with the ability to edit/upload impossible for days / weeks on end . The whole process took weeks to complete which is expensive at my hourly rate. I would also suggest that you expand categories to include an OTHER - my works are specialist & for the 1st time was repeatedly asked for CDM information which does not apply to our company. Categories are inflexible - little wonder I have never had a referral as result of membership. Eventually I was asked to submit documents to a Technical Support Officer for them to upload which was unsatisfactory and delayed the process as not all uploaded. Even complaining did not seem to be effective and my request for a discount as compensation was roundly rejected. I seriously questioned whether the accreditation was worthwhile as the process was more indicative of a company in free fall. Chas is definitely a better customer experience . I would suggest that you spend less on marketing and divert funds to your core business Health & Safety Accreditation.

Thank you for your feedback and we're sorry to hear that you've had difficulties in uploading your documents. Our colleagues are always available five days a week to provide support with this process if needed.

Waited over 25 days for the assessment to be checked. Shocking customer service.

very poor, every year we have to go through a pre screening process supplying additional or points of clarity only then to be passed to an auditor who requests further information or sometimes has a conflicting point of view as what is needed very frustrating, no improvement year on year, auditors seems to lack practical understanding around health and safety

Really poor to be honest. I started the process a couple of years ago. Paid a years subscription, couldnt complete due to the pandemic. Received a slight discount for membership this year. We completer CHAS and Constructionline quicker. We employed an advisor and his feedback was Safecontractor was the poorest overalll.

They now have added a PQQ extra which you have to have even if you don't need it which is extra money. Unless you then pay for premium or can submit the info the day they make the questionnaire available, you will be late getting the accreditation, trying to force the user to pay extra. The assessors don't always read the submissions and ask you the questions you have already answered, again delaying things. Would not consider using SafeContractor if a customer did not require accrediation, it is just a money-making exercise.

You move the goalposts - I upload everything you ask for then you wait 20 days to be told that you want more than you have already asked, then wait again for over a week to be told you want more again and then again have to wait!! Consequently, my certification expired - and I submitted to yourselves on the 27th September, as soon as was physically possible. My certification was issued on the 5th November. The service, which has increased your charges, is worse than it was before and you expect us to pay another £200 to get certification quicker A BIG CON! Customer service is bad too!!!!! If we ran our company this way we would be out of business

I paid for additional help, I had nothing other than a list of documents. I sent information over and was asked for the same over and over again. No help and very slow. The auditor had a few minor items he required, that process was efficient and good.

You sent out Pro Forma Invoice over 2 months before invoice was due to be paid. When we questioned it you said, it was just a gentle reminder, then we were bombarded with emails saying invoice was due. Like most companies we had a tough time last year with covid but still managed to settle our bills on time, which we did with yours. We do not expect our customers to pay up 2 or 1 month, or even a week in advance. Also we feel we were penalised in the accreditation process because of this.

We had updated our yearly review and was informed that unless we paid £150.00 our file would not be look at for 20 days and in that time we would expire and not be accredited. I felt this was blackmail so chose not to accept and wait for the 20 days. The 20 days came and went so I, contacted Safe Contractor and the lady said yep I can see it all I will now pass it on !!!!!! I thought it would have been reviewed within the 20 days. I then had to wait another week for someone to come back to me asking for 4 items of evidence which I provided and then I got my accreditation. Not a great service !!!!

Terrible!! Quite happy to take full payment then ignore all communications for the best part of 6 months. Still waiting for a response following, finally receiving accreditation.

I would not recommend completing the SafeContractor accreditation with Alcamus. It took over 2 months to chase our accreditation due to incorrect information being submitting in our SSIP registration. There seems to be no communication between departments and is left to the customer to chase and request incorrect information be changed. A very long and difficult process with little assistance.

Process and certification took far too long Desgusted to be told if we paid extra that our renewal would be accelerated to the front of the queue.
