I'm afraid I have had to knock a few points off because of our trainer - Dave. Throughout the training he was very patronising to the whole team, particularly the Orthodontist because "he should know all of this" and made quite a few snarky comments. He went into a lot of detail about the ins and outs of every medication and the reactions it has in the body which isn't necessarily information that we needed. We didn't have the dosages covered in our training either so the team feel as though they have come away with not enough information. Dave was highly critical of our medical emergency kit (some was warranted). He seemed to also have a particular problem with someone that had done the course a week previously and picked on them throughout the day,

Hi Louise Thank you for taking the time to leave such considered feedback. We're obviously very disappointed to hear about your experience, which falls well under par of what we expect from our trainers, and we will feed your comments back to Dave to ensure that it doesn't happen again. If there's anything you'd like to discuss further, please don't hesitate to contact us directly at office@safeandsound.uk.net. All best The team at Safe and Sound
This is a well developed course. Half online and half face to face training. The trainer was good, gave us too many personal anecdotes which I found irritating however some people like that sort of thing and she had a good pace. Rushed the bleeding section so it was confusing. I feel the BH Company could have spent more providing a decent venue and lunch for those involved. Given most of their employees are on just over average wages and spending their day off in training without pay. It is shoddy treatment not sure how BH claim to be a top 10 employer with so much unpaid out of hours time spent on their training courses - bring your own coffee too and buy your own petrol.

The practical part of the course was excellent and I really felt that I had learned a lot and that I would be more confident with any first aid I might be called on to give. The theory part was less good. 1. Some of the questions were not precise enough - how bad was that burn from a cup of tea for example. 2. It would be nice to have idea of the length of time it would take before one started. 3. If one gets a question wrong in the test, it would be helpful to know which question it was and to have a chance to revisit that section, otherwise it’s a useless exercise from a learning point of view.

5 Stars for the hands-on trainer -engaging, funny and presented in a fab way. 0 stars for the online - cluncky, irritating and everything you don't want in online learning in one place. Refuses to let you move forward unless 100% score.

Hello Bhav Thank you for your honest feedback, we will take your comments on board. You are absolutely correct that you are unable to move forward unless 100% is achieved. This is to ensure that learners have a full understanding of the content, and that our elearning does not simply become a click-through exercise with no evidence of any learning having taken place. We are delighted of course that you enjoyed the face to face element and will pass your comments back to the trainer. The Safe and Sound Team
Unfortunately, this was not quite what we had in mind. Too basic, not interactive enough

Content useful, good structure to course, invaluable information. Instructor OK. However, he made a number of jokes & comments that I thought were a bit inappropriate for the situation. E.G. 'why is it called an Epi-pen? because in America, they call it epinephrine. Why do Americans always have to be different hey? (then acted out a conversation using a mock American accent). Also made a comment about 'damn Americans will do what they damn want'. Also said 'women don't have a visible Adams apple as their vocal chords wore it down'. I think instructor would be better keeping personal opinions to themselves and just teach the course.

The content of the course was good, and met our training requirements in terms of paediatric first Aid. The trainer attempted to make the training engaging with lots of stories and anecdotes, which was successful. However, at times those anecdotes could have made people feel uncomfortable, and that should be considered in future.

Due to covid-19 I found it a little strange, however it was very informative.

Course was good for refreshing basics. Was not really taken by the leaders way of teaching, some things he thought were coming across as funny could actually be seen as a bit offensive. Far too much time wasted on either breaks or story telling which could of been teaching. Overall I have attended much more informative sessions. All I learnt from the second part of this training I already knew from the first module.

The online training was very informative and well structured. The in class training was not the best I've been to. The person who delivered the training made some comments describing his own experience delivering first aid and I found them quite unprofessional.

Adapted well to virtual learning! Enjoyed the quiz approach to discussions.

It was good.

Felt like a bit much mucking around off topic. The information and practical could have been condensed to be one hour. Also, not safe &sound specific but it would be nice to see england timely progressing teachings. For just one example, many years ago other places have changed to teach DRS ABCD to include 'send for help' (get someone to call an ambulance) and 'defibrillator ' (rather than just DR ABC). The defib is an important step to optimise chances of survival , so it should be part of the mnemonic which people automatically revert to. I'm not sure if you have involvement of the continued development of the standardised course content but i think it is worth mentioning for if you do.

The course added extra first aid which was not in the booklet or online training
