About The Red Dog Company:

The Red Dog Company was born out of the quest for well-designed, high-quality, dog beds and accessories.

Our dogs work hard, whether in the field, or exercising the children. When they’re not out and about, the chances are they are in their beds, so it seems only fair to make them as comfortable as possible.

Nick and Chris are field sports enthusiasts, and self-confessed gear obsessives.

“The product is quality - exactly as advertised - and our Lab loves it. My only comment is that the delivery charge to Northern Ireland is excessive (even when compared with competitors) and sadly would put me off ordering anything else.”

Sadly the cost of shipping large dog beds to Northern Ireland is expensive. Even more so since the complexities caused by Brexit. As a company, we are 100% transparent on the cost of shipping with our customers. You pay exactly what it costs us to ship the product to you, not a penny more. We always use the most competitive courier we can find for Northern Ireland on a per shipment basis. “Got the large oval bed in Willow. Although I think the bed is is very expensive, I wanted a good quality bed that would last for my 3 year old labradoodle, and that it is. I’m really pleased with it but I’m not sure the dog is!! He won’t get in it! I think it may be to do with the sheep/ woolly smell you get initially with anything made with wool, and the fact that he’s sulking over his old bed disappearing! 🤣”

Whilst our beds are a bit of an investment to being with, we firmly believe, and you will see from our 800+ reviews that all our customers also think, they are worth it! From time to time dogs can take a little while to get used to new bedding. In such cases, we recommend using a familiar blanket / cover to begin with. Another option is to wash the mattress cover. “Prompt delivery, excellent quality product (tweed rollmat). Happy with the cap, perfect summer weight, probably a bit light for winter. Disappointed with the delivery charge, >£13, which although possibly reflective of the actual cost, seemed excessive on top of the already expensive product.”

Dear Diane Thank you for leaving great review, we are so pleased that you and your Springer Spaniel, Angus, are delighted with your new Tweed Roll Mat. We are sorry that the delivery charge to Aberdeen is on the expensive side, however all our shipping charges are passed on to our customers at cost, and we try to be as transparent as possible and therefore split out shipping costs rather than include them in the price of our products. “This company and the beds are fantastic . Great communication , great delivery, the most luxurious , comfy practical dog beds. Why only 4 stars? way way too much plastic in the packaging esp the the 150 m dog lead that came in a narrow plastic tube bag that is no good to reuse for anything else. Not needed.”

“Our two spaniels love their large tweed mattress. It looks great, fits the available space, and they spend a lot of time stretched out enjoying their new comfy bed. It handles the dirt that two active, working dogs bring much better than their previous beds (other brands!) Delivery was very speedy too. Only very slight issue is that a little of the wool topper has fluffed up and come off - not that it has affected the look or quality of the cover. All in all delighted with our purchase.”

Dear Susannah Please do not worry about the fluff, especially at the bed is brand new, with dogs that like to “nest”. Because our toppers are made with 100% wool - the fibres vary slightly in length. This is similar to when a new wool carpet is first laid, you may notice balls of fluff appearing for the first few weeks. This will all calm down after a short while. “Following on from my review on how the mat was delivered I received a very nice telephone call from Nick and it appears that technology may have failed to work and my messages not received. However, I appreciate the fault lay with the courier and not with the Red Dog Company who had followed my instructions completely. I am now considering a bed for my aged Lab!”

“These dog beds are beautifully made, and our dogs really love them, evidenced by the fact that they are quite reluctant to get out of them! My only complaint is that the wool seat "sheds" a bit. I am hoping this corrects itself over time.”

“Swift response to order and green dog mat delivered in within days. We were looking for a memory foam bed for our 3yr old a Vizsla Sundance and so far she’s very happy with it. Quality fabric and stitching. Fleece topper makes it extra cosy. Hoping it will wash well in the future.”

“We decided to take the plunge into the £100+ bed category for our 13 year old Parsons Russell Terrier after the vet suggested a memory foam mattress to help alleviate her arthritis. We'd noticed she was rejecting her current (very lovely but oval shaped) bed in favour of spreading out on the floor and so decided to go for it. We try to purchase british wherever possible and so decided to invest in a Red Dog Company bed. Tilly just loves it and every penny was well spent. She's only 7kg (so small for a PRT) but we went for the medium size so she can have a good old stretch. To begin with she kept to only one corner of it but once we added a blanket for her to scrunch into a loose nest she started really making use of the space. She is clearly much happier. It looks great and we loved the colour choices. I have only given 4/5 instead of 5/5 because i feel that at this price point delivery should have been included. That said, we are very happy customers. No photo as Miss Tilly is very camera shy.”

Dear Susie, Thank you for your kind review. Please do not worry about fluff coming off. The thick pile Topper is 100% real wool and when new we do occasionally get reports of some shedding, especially if you dog is a bit of a “nester”. However, rest assured it should settle down quickly, and does not effect the longevity, or looks, of the Topper. If it continues to be an issue, please keep us posted. All the best Chris

“Gorgeous bed, this really is the best you can buy for your dog. I have a golden retriever, he isn’t especially big, but could probably have done with a slightly bigger bed. I bought the largest standard size, I think an extra large size as a standard option would be a good idea”
