“I had an incredible experience volunteering with ReefCI in Belize, with assistance from Pod Volunteer, who helped me organize everything from beginning to end. Their communication and service were exceptional (Thank you, Gemma!), making the organization of my trip seamless. The project itself was incredibly meaningful, aiming to protect the coral reefs by learning about and spear-hunting the invasive lionfish. I would definitely choose Pod Volunteer again in the future!”

“Excellent organisation throughout. The project (sea turtle conservation in Costa Rica) was an unbelievable experience and they took great care of me. Pod volunteer was very communicative during my preparation which improved my confidence going into it, especially as a young solo traveller. I would definitely recommend and use this company again.”

“We loved our time as a family at the Reef Conservation project in Belize. We learnt so much about reef conservation in the Caribbean with informative presentations and very knowledgeable and passionate staff. We felt like we were making a real difference with our diving lionfish hunts and beach clean up. We got to stay on an idyllic Caribbean island with a great group of volunteers. The diving, boat and island staff were all brilliant. We were thoroughly spoilt with fantastic food! Pod Volunteer are so supportive in every step of the decision and booking process. We would highly recommend a trip with them. In fact our daughter has already booked another one for next summer.”

Thanks very much for your feedback and I’m so glad to hear that you enjoyed island life and that you felt it was a meaningful project in Belize. Thank you for choosing to help to protect the ocean in Belize, your support has directly helped to remove the lionfish invasive species and to conserve the reef. Thanks for your comments on the diving too – all dives are carefully planned and kept well within all safety limits but each diver uses their air at very different rate. Dive training covers the importance of each diver monitoring their individual air supply using their gauges and signalling to the dive leader when they get lower on air. We’ll ask the local team to remind all divers to be doing this but it is ultimately the responsibility of each diver (and their buddy), so we have to trust that all divers follow their training and procedures. We wish you happy future travels and lots more diving!
