“My son thoroughly enjoyed his time with Pod Volunteer helping with marine and turtle conservation in Kefalonia. The company is very well organished; Alex was very helpful and kept me well informed throughout. I loved the photos that were shared throughout the trip. Oveall, I would definately recommend this experience to other 16/17 year olds. Even though my son didn't know anyone before he went, he soon became friends with the group and has already met up with some of them since. 5 Stars from me.”

“I had such an amazing experience in Kefalonia doing turtle conservation and met the loveliest people! We somehow managed to fit so much into a week while still having loads of free time to chill and go to the beach, cannot recommend enough to anyone thinking of applying! 🐢🐢”

“My 17 year old had a fantastic time on the U18 Greece trip. From start to finish, I felt that Pod were a quality organisation that I could trust. Their communications throughout were very clear and informative, and the level of detail shared with parents during the week was spot on to help us feel reassured that they were all safe. “We have recently returned from Kefalonia where we spent time volunteering on the Family Turle conservation and education programme. The experience was incredibly, full of life-long memories. Alex from Pod Volunteer was incredibly helpful throughout the planning stage. We recieved detailed information about all aspects of the trip and plenty of advice on what to pack and what to expect before throughout the lead-up to the trip. Everyone at the wildlife organisation we helped was also incredibly knowledgable, friendly and helpful. The whole trip was incredibly well planned and communication throughout was excellent. As with any trip invlcing nature there is always an element of the unknown with what you will see and expereince, but these expecations were carefully managed by the leaders and Pod Volunteer. I can not recommend this experience highly enough and would definitely use Pod Volunteer again in the future for any other volunteering holiday I plan.”

“The U18 Turtle Conservation residential in Kefalonia couldn’t have been better organised. Alongside educational activities involving there were plenty of sightseeing opportunities too. My daughter made new friends, learned a great deal about turtles and their environment and said she would definitely go again. I can thoroughly recommend Pod Volunteer as an organisation to support young people take their first steps into the world of volunteering. The communication and information provided from initial enquiries through to booking and throughout the duration of the trip were excellent. Thank you to Alex and the team. “The whole family had an amazing time, we have 3 children aged 16, 13 and 8. The activities with Wildlife Sense engaged all of them. The Wildlife Sense team were wonderful - enthusiastic, informative and friendly. Booking through Pod volunteer was extremely easy with fantastic customer service. We felt extremely well informed by Alex prior to travel and he was very responsive, with quick and useful replies to any emails we sent. It was nice to meet Alex in person during our time in Kefalonia and he emailed during our stay to check that everything was going well. We would thoroughly recommend this holiday.”

“I had THE BEST week. Thank you Alex, Adam and the brilliant group I was in. I was so nervous before going on the trip as I didn’t know anybody else going, but most were going solo just like me- and we had so much fun. I now know so much about turtles and their protection that I want to learn even more. I would definitely join another POD trip next year.”

“The best review we can give is in the words of our child; "it was the best week ever!" and when asked if they'd want to go again "definitely!". Communication from the leads was excellent, preparation and packing requirements clear, connecting the group in advance worked well and contact whilst they were away was perfectly pitched. What our child learned and took part in will undoubtedly stay with them as a highlight learning and holiday experience. Thank you!”

“We had a fantastic family holiday working on the Turtle Conservation Project in Kefalonia. The team’s enthusiasm and knowledge really inspired and the week long activities gave us a wonderful insight into everything they do. Our children were slightly older than what I think is the usual, 17 and 14, but this was no barrier and they came away exclaiming this was the best holiday they had been on. The activities are usually just half a day so there is still time for more typical summer holiday fun but having a purpose each day, not to mention the absolute joy in seeing the turtles and hatchlings and sleeping one night in the beach to monitor them, changed what would be a regular beach holiday to a trip that has had a far greater emotional impact and made our bonds as a family even stronger. Absolutely recommended!”

“This was an incredible experience eye-opening and extremely interesting I learnt many things about the culture and mostly about elephants and their behaviours etc. The whole experience was very smooth from the transfer being there when we arrived and everyone being very lovely. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for an adventure of a lifetime.”

“Volunteering with turtles was an incredible experience for our family. Very well organised! The team were happy to answer all my questions before booking. The staff looking after us on the project were very knowledgeable. The work that goes into protecting the turtles to ensure they reach the sea successfully is exceptional. We have learnt so much and feel proud that we have helped these magnificent endangered animals. Would highly recommend!”

“My 17yo had an interesting experience and was definately pushed out of her comfort zone. The team was fantastic from start to finish, clear communication, approachable, attentive and organised. “Wow, Wow, Wow! What an amazing trip! Life changing and affirming. I have met some of the most incredible people who will be friends for life. The whole experience was phenomenal. The organisation of Alex, Gemma and the Pod volunteer team was second to none. Everything was taken care of, collection from the airport, educational presentations, food, trips out to the capital, the caves, a music festival, olive oil tasting. Early morning beach surveys, snorkelling surveys and the opportunity to observe turtles in their natural habitat and provide a positive environmental impact was just wonderful. I would recommend this trip - Turtle Conservation in Kefalonia to anyone. I participated in the 16-18 year old trip and completed it as part of my Gold DofE, however, Alex and the team offer the same trip for families and other age groups. If you can go, please do as you will have the experience of a lifetime. I am looking forward to trying another trip with Pod Volunteer.”

He had an amazing time and hasn’t stopped talking about his week away and all the experiences he had. He’s even talking about do another trip next year.
