“We had a fantastic family holiday working on the Turtle Conservation Project in Kefalonia. The team’s enthusiasm and knowledge really inspired and the week long activities gave us a wonderful insight into everything they do. Our children were slightly older than what I think is the usual, 17 and 14, but this was no barrier and they came away exclaiming this was the best holiday they had been on. The activities are usually just half a day so there is still time for more typical summer holiday fun but having a purpose each day, not to mention the absolute joy in seeing the turtles and hatchlings and sleeping one night in the beach to monitor them, changed what would be a regular beach holiday to a trip that has had a far greater emotional impact and made our bonds as a family even stronger. Absolutely recommended!”

“This was an incredible experience eye-opening and extremely interesting I learnt many things about the culture and mostly about elephants and their behaviours etc. The whole experience was very smooth from the transfer being there when we arrived and everyone being very lovely. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for an adventure of a lifetime.”

“Volunteering with turtles was an incredible experience for our family. Very well organised! The team were happy to answer all my questions before booking. The staff looking after us on the project were very knowledgeable. The work that goes into protecting the turtles to ensure they reach the sea successfully is exceptional. We have learnt so much and feel proud that we have helped these magnificent endangered animals. Would highly recommend!”

“My 17yo had an interesting experience and was definately pushed out of her comfort zone. The team was fantastic from start to finish, clear communication, approachable, attentive and organised. The concept of saving the turtles is beautiful and the whole experience truly keeps one humble. Thank you POD volunteers for a great week in Greece.”

“Wow, Wow, Wow! What an amazing trip! Life changing and affirming. I have met some of the most incredible people who will be friends for life. The whole experience was phenomenal. The organisation of Alex, Gemma and the Pod volunteer team was second to none. Everything was taken care of, collection from the airport, educational presentations, food, trips out to the capital, the caves, a music festival, olive oil tasting. Early morning beach surveys, snorkelling surveys and the opportunity to observe turtles in their natural habitat and provide a positive environmental impact was just wonderful. I would recommend this trip - Turtle Conservation in Kefalonia to anyone. I participated in the 16-18 year old trip and completed it as part of my Gold DofE, however, Alex and the team offer the same trip for families and other age groups. If you can go, please do as you will have the experience of a lifetime. I am looking forward to trying another trip with Pod Volunteer.”

“My 17 year old son has recently returned from a weeks volunteering in Greece-turtle conservation. He had an amazing time and hasn’t stopped talking about his week away and all the experiences he had. He’s even talking about do another trip next year. POD volunteer were fantastic throughout the process and highly recommend them.”

“My 16 year old daughter had an amazing time in Greece and hasn’t stopped talking about her experiences since she returned. From my initial contact with Alex at Pod Volunteer, the service received was exceptional and it was reassuring to know that he was actually on the trip too. My daughter, as well as gaining friends for life, also gained independence and confidence. She loved the food, the stunning scenery, the activities and learning opportunities - she certainly didn’t want to come home! “This was one of the best experiences of my life. I met some amazing people who I have formed incredible and long lasting friendships with. The leaders gave us lots of free time and independence whilst also giving us the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the conservation work and contribute to the community. “An exceptional service from first enquiry to completing the chosen expedition. Alex and his team provide a first class experience. Communication is excellent, paperwork is easy to complete, everything is taken care of from airport collections, accommodation, food, entertainment, education, knowledgeable guides to assist throughout the time you are volunteering. Regular updates were provided and great photos of the adventure that your child is on. Alex and his team made our daughter feel like one of the family. I would definitely recommend Pod Volunteer.”

“I had a wonderful time ! it was such a wholesome experience with meeting new people, learning and seeing so many turtles and living in a fun campsite in the beautiful kefalonia. We had the opportunity to snorkel, swim, learn, explore and more and I really enjoyed my time with Pod Volunteer. The leaders were so sweet and very helpful throughout the trip ! I learnt so much about turtles in kefalonia and will definetly will be doing another program next year.”

“My 11 year old son and I volunteered with Wildlife Sense, a turtle conservation project on the greek island of Kefalonia, through Pod Volunteer. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience! The support we were given from booking, the information provided before and throughout the trip, and the contact with the team while in Kefalonia was superb. We found the experience exactly what we hoped for, and appreciated being part of something bigger,while also enjoying contributing to the protection of these beautiful creatures. We would highly recommed the trip.”
