Cake looked nice but unedible, dry as old boots

Not pleased at all with the cake, we practically threw out about 3/4 of that cake since no one enjoyed it. It was just too dry. Probably we had been spoilt for choice since my husband had ordered the same cake for my birthday in March and we loved that particular one. I tried to get the same baker, but she had advised I could only use the portal and preferably request for her.

The cake was decorated as per the picture but the cake itself was dry and the edges were burned.

Last time I ordered from My Baker was in 2018 and the service was exceptional. This time I had my order a few months ago and the quality of the cake and decor was just so poor. The name and icing was wiped out and the flavours on the cake were bland. Just was not worth the price paid at all.

I ordered cupcakes for my daughter's birthday. The boxes smelt like someone's fried dinner and the cupcakes were all different sizes with two or three of them being ridiculously small. I contacted the my baker team and was assured the baker would be spoken to on Monday but I never heard anything else after that. This was my first order and sadly my last. Waste of money.

Great communication and delivery but the cake didn’t look like the one on the website. It looked like someone tried really hard to copy it but it wasn’t what I was expecting it to look like. The first picture is what it looked like on the website and the second picture is what I received.

The cake was beautiful and tasted delicious, however I was extremely disappointed that the baker refused to let me keep the box used to deliver the cake or provide a box to store the cake. This caused quite an inconvenience as the cake was planned to be surprise for my parents and was difficult to store aware neatly after the festivities.

Delivery was good and in a reasonable time; presentation and top icing layer was also well done. However, the inner texture of the cake was overly dense, dry, and unfortunately not worth the high price tag.

I order from my baker in 2019 - they matched my requirements to a local baker. I had a great experience and the cake was fantastic. This time the ordering and delivery experience was absolutely fine - v easy - but the cake was disappointing. Extremely sugary and dry. We did not enjoy it or eat it all.

Cake was not as expected. Words written with white icing on white base. Fruits going off. Wont be using MyBaker again.

Cake looked nice exactly like the picture but it tasted horrible. I thought from the description the cake was covered in buttercream but it was just plain cream so tasted sour. We had to throw the whole cake out. I wouldn’t order from my baker again.

Customer service was on point.Price bit overpriced,Delivery late anyways was not a problem but the cake was ok,colour was way different to the one showed in the website, too much cream and was not soft enough.Will try somewhere else.

I had a wonderful experience working with Noreen to find the right baker for a birthday cake all the way from Richmond, VA, USA for an event I was planning in the UK. The cake was absolutely picture perfect and on the outside exactly what I was looking for. It was a masterpiece to look at. It was unfortunately VERY DRY and I was very disappointed by this. When I relayed this to Noreen and she spoke to the baker - I was told "she was her #1 on go to" and "she had stayed up all night" making the cake & she (the baker) was so "upset to hear this". When I asked for some kind of refund - yeah - when someone says "it tastes like she baked it when I ordered it" you should be given a refund. I was told I would get 20 pounds off my next order...I know I will not use My Baker again and will not hesitate to not recommend. While I appreciate the time, work and effort put into making the cake - it was an aweful tasting cake and even good bakers make a bad one now and again.

When we received the cake we were rather underwhelmed with its appearance and was a far cry from the picture on the internet. It was very costly, and although tasted ok it was in no way worth the money. We even had to do our own decoration on it to make it look more special for the event it was required for. I will not be using MyBaker again.

We have taken your feedback onboard and now added customisation elements to all of our cakes online.
