I visited the garage twice and had a terrible experience both times. During my first visit, I was astonished at how slowly the staff were moving around the place. They were the slowest garage staff I had ever seen. Even though I decided to give it another chance. However, my second visit was no better. The staff provided no customer service and showed no sense of urgency. There was nobody at the reception, and when I waited outside, no one approached me to ask if I had been served. When I asked one of the staff about my appointment, he said he would find out for me. He walked around the shop, talked to other staff members, laughed and at the end, moved one car. After 10 minutes, he simply passed me without saying anything. When I approached him again, he said, "We are very busy". While another staff member loitered in front of me, he was tramping on the spot for 10 minutes. So, in this garage, loitering is considered to be busy. The garage provided low-quality and unprofessional service. I had my wheel fixed and fitted back onto my car, but the balancing was skipped. When I asked why the staff member did not balance it, he said, "I did not remove the tyre" (which was a lie), and then immediately asked, "Do you want it to be balanced?". This was ridiculous because how many customers know what to check and how to check their tyres after visiting so-called "tyre specialists"? Almost nobody. This is why the garage has good reviews. Tyre shops are just the basics (entry-level) of car mechanics, and most garages fail to follow the simplest procedures. This is due to low-skilled workers, management, and a lack of ongoing monitoring and training. The staff is unmotivated and only works to pay their bills, with no passion or attention to detail. All of the issues mentioned above were clearly visible, and this is fundamentally wrong in every business. To top it all off, the garage does not know how to store tyres properly (the storage above the reception). They stack them on top of each other, which is completely wrong. Tyres should be stored standing on their threads. A quick Google search will tell you that. In conclusion, this is a typical back street garage that provides terribly slow, unprofessional service that may leave you on the road with an unbalanced and deformed wheel/tyre.

Went to Mr Tyres yesterday as pre booked for a 2pm appointment to have 4 tyres fitted (225/40ZR18 92W SUNNY NA301 XL x 4), I had chosen the tyres 2 days earlier. I arrived a few minutes early but waited @ 30 minutes before the car was taken into the garage. About another 30 minutes and I was asked if I wanted the tracking looked at, I said no thankyou. The young man bought my car out and I paid the bill which was about £10 less than I had calculated, a bit strange I thought. Got home and checked the tyres and they had not fitted the tyres I ordered but some cheaper ones without saying a word about it. Very annoying, what can I do?

Dear Nick, Our branch is contacting you to arrange for the tyres to be exchanged for the tyres you ordered. We are sorry for the mix up and hopefully you understand that mistakes can happen. If they do we always try our best to rectify them. Kind regards, Pete Bamford Retail Director

So I took my car in for tyres and they asked me if I wanted them tracked? Err yeah please, that’s like do you want a boiler fitted and do you want it to work???? So it’s another £55 to get it tracked? I mean I’ve just spent £500 on four tyres and they don’t track it?

Dear Anonymous, I am sorry to see that you have reviews us negatively for something that is never included in the tyre fitting charge, by any tyre centre. Whilst a wheel alignment check is often advised if there’s evidence of uneven tyre wear, is a separate product. If wheel alignment isn’t required there’s no charge whatsoever. In reference to your boiler analogy, it’s more accurate to think that if your tyres aren’t aligned correctly they won’t perform quite as well and they won’t last as long. I hope this helps you understand, but if not, please send your details to us at customerservice@mrtyre.co.uk and we will explain it directly, either by telephone call or a direct email. Kind regards, Pete Bamford Mr Tyre Ltd Customer Service Team

Dear Rocky, Please except our apologies if the level of customer service you received at our Newcastle depot was not at the standard that depot normally provides and what the company expects. Your visit has been discussed with the staff member involved and additional customer service training will be given to him. Thank you for giving us another opportunity at our Longton depot and praising our Manager Andy there for his excellent customer service. Hopefully you will continue to use us in the future. Kind Regards Mr Mr Tyre Team

23/7/21 1600 MY WIFE took suspected slow puncture of 10 month old tyre (only done 2000 miles) to be fixed at Coventry. Didnt bother lifting wheel off ground said tyrewalls bulging replace. We didnt purchase. We weren't advised NOT to drive car. Took car to where tyre came from. Before driving each time used a bicycle pump to inflate, in a couple of minutes ie not losing much air! Other garage did a proper job found screw mid tread within 1 minute or arrival- fixed it. NEITHER SIDEWALL HAS PROBLEMS. Wouldnt use Coventry Branch again.

Dear Mr Arlidge, I am sorry to see that you were not happy with the advice given by the staff at our Coventry centre. I have investigated the circumstances of your wife’s visit and can confirm that in our technician’s opinion the punctured tyre did not meet the condition required to safely repair the tyre to the standards set out by the British Standards Institution in BS AU159 and therefore, it required replacement. We explained and showed your wife the reasons why and we gave a quote. Your wife stated that the tyre has been going down since purchase, about 2 months ago, and that she would take it back to the place of original purchase, a competitor 500 yards from our location. Unfortunately, I am unwilling to comment on the work conducted by other companies other than to say Mr Tyre Ltd will not compromise on safety standards, irrespective of what our competitors are willing to do. Kind Regards, Customer Service Team

There's nothing free about the "alignment check" that is offered when you book a tyre fitting on line. It's a misleading sales technique. It's an inspection only The adjustment costs £29.95. It should be pointed out to customers who visit the website that this fee will be charged if the alignment is found to be in need of adjustment.

Dear Andrew, Alongside all other retailers, we offer a 'Free wheel alignment check' and once the check is completed, you have the option to either have it done and pay for that or just accept the 'free check' and leave it at that. You have sent a complaint to our customer service team in which you stated: "I understood from the readings that the tracking / alignment was out of true. But that was clear to me anyway. The technician said there was a charge of £29.95. I reluctantly gave consent because I wanted the new tyres to be safe and to wear evenly". You say 'reluctantly' but that was definitely your choice. There's absolutely no pressure, it's completely up to the customer to decide. In fact, it's much better to know whether it needs adjusting or not, even if you decide not to have it done at that time. I am sorry that you decided to rate us poorly, simply because aren't happy with the wording on our website. In your email to us, you said you were happy with the work and you don't want to complain about our branch that did the work. Kind regards, Mr Tyre Customer Services Team

Following a slow puncture (screw in the centre of tyre tread) I took my car to Mr Tyre Ltd on Castle Boulevard for a puncture repair. The Branch Manager Saqib Yaqub was very unhelpful and was obstinate in his manner and demeanour. He tried to "up sell" me and sell me a new tyre instead of repairing the existing one. Saqib Yaqub tried to quote me a higher price too for the tyre blaming the higher price on "Brexit" (when the country hasn't actually left the EU yet and sterling has become stronger against most currencies. I had recently bought my tyres Mr Tyre and paid less). The Branch Manager knew he had me over a barrel and trying to exploit the position. The tyre fitter spent nearly twenty minutes inside my car doing absolutely nothing (trying to procrastinate). Fortunately I had the good sense to go to The Happy Tyre Man on Saint Peters Street, who repaired the tyre quickly, promptly and safely. He informed that Mr Tyre were indeed trying to rip me off. Beware of the Branch Manager Saqib Yayub, the previous manager was a lot nicer, not trying to rip you off and exploit your situation.

Really bad customer service. Have a limited knowledge on tyres in the first instance so just inputted my car registration and tyre size into their search engine and picked some tyres from the drop down list. Engineer then came out and said he would not fit there’s tyres as they were not ‘run flat’ Eventually managed to contact the company who have charged me £40 for this. Have tried to make a complaint via the email system and it has been ignored. I would not use this company and there are several better ones on the market who actually value and appreciate the customer !!

Hi, Called into Warwick Branch to see all the doors open, lights on and nothing on the ramps at 5pm with 2 Operatives in the Office with Iphones in hand and bums on seats. On asking if I could have a set of tyres I was told they were very busy and expecting someone in who had booked , we shut in half an hour you know. Ah well spent my £300 quid with someone who wanted too provide a service lol.

four good tyres and price reasonable, fitted quickly and was initially pleased. One week in my rear tyre is deflating, the same wheel id had a problem with which led me to replacing all four, this happens. I rang to explain at 9am and told the guy I could bring my car in at 11am, he said they were busy but could fit me in. I drop the car off and return 3 hours later, car has not been looked at. Im told they said they were busy and they had become more busy since id phoned at 9am. Did they not book me in before these people who had made it "more busy"? I ask when do they think they could look and was told " I can't give you an answer to be honest" !!!! maybe another hour. This is the point where I realise there is not much profit in a repair which will probably be for free anyway and I ask for my keys back. I visit another local tyre dealer who inspects the tyre and informs me the valve is faulty and to be honest does not look like its a valve that is one week old, sounds like the old valve to me as this wheel had gone down before on the old tyre. Another week passes and I notice the two front are losing pressure. I decide to run the car into my trusted tyre man who checks the remaining 3 wheels and discovers they are all losing pressure through the valves, in one case the valve was "barely in there". To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. I drive to work 19 miles over country roads to Chorley and come home via the motorway. What may have happened doesn't bear thinking about. So there we are great tyres but dodgy valves/ poor workmanship/ added expense of £40 to make the car safe. Im not one for leaving bad reviews but safety concerns need highlighting. Farnworth branch.

We're sorry to read your comments, Mr Booth. Using your feedback we have looked into this matter to try & understand what may have transpired. Across our 35 branches, we fit thousands of tyres and this is the first time we've been alerted to this valve issue which suggests it isn't a bad batch of valves which caused the problem. Unless a valve leaks straight away, it's unlikely they ever will. Corroded wheels can play a part but we cannot determine this now. In so far as your customer experience, we always seek to provide a high level of friendly, quality service so are sorry we couldn't get to your vehicle sooner. Wait times can be impacted if there is an issue with vehicles before yours, as we seek to complete each job satisfactorily. If you would like to discuss your case further then please feel free to contact us - customerservice@mrtyre.co.uk. Kind regards, Mr Tyre team

Obviously business is that good they dont need the work!!! Question Underneath How fast did company reply? Theres no box for "They didnt bother" :-)

We are very sorry to hear that you are disappointed with the work that we have carried out for you. I can confirm that we only use Ceratec brake grease at Lincoln which is a metal free permanent lubricant for disc brakes. It has a zero copper content to ensure that there is no interference with abs sensors. We would very much like to discuss and the issues with you if you could contact customerservice@mrtyre.co.uk we will be happy to investigate what has happened.

Dear Edward, This is a little unfair to state that our staff don't know what they're doing as there are many factors that affect steering wheel position. We care about all of our customers and would like to resolve this. We tried to contact you within 2 hours of receiving your email, however the email address on the form you completed doesn't work. The only telephone number you provided us with is a land line with call guard on it. We left our contact details but didn't receive a call back. We would like to discuss your experience further as your steering wheel shouldn't be out of line. If you would like to contact us at customerservice@mrtyre.co.uk we will arrange to have your car inspected at any of our centres where an exact diagnosis of what the cause is will be established. Kind regards, Mr Tyre Customer Services
