“I got this for my 92 year old neighbour who occasionally falls in the garden and is unable to lift himself up. He can drag himself into the house and using his sofa can eventually get vertical. HE IS LAZY. Won’t do the exercises to strengthen his arms. There is about 10 years left in him and he is of totally sound & independent mind. He has a good relationship with his family, but does not want excessive interference. I park a car in his drive and have asked him what do they think of this (as it discommodes them, when he has to be collected). “Nothing to do with them, it’s my house”
He does have a problem with the supplied wrist strap and wont use it. Also totally refuses to use the neck strap. He has manufactured his own wrist strap from a thin piece of velcro, which I think isn’t secure enough but there is only so much I can berate him. His life, HIS choices must be respected. Claims he is happier now than ever - despite considerable loneliness, albeit less than mine (& he’s no company for me as the opposite type of personality - I’m a warrior, he’s a mere WW2 soldier that saw NO action and had servants in India)”
