Wrong size will be returning shame there was no other sizes and I want ems the braemar jacket but stock was low only one and it was wrong size and colour

The jacket is too large (52L) the waist coat that came with it is tight to nearly too small. How can the waist coat be small, for the large coat? and you do not allow an exchange for a smaller coat/jacket, and keep the waist coat, or obtain a somewhat larger waist coat?

Second pair of Troos I have bought here. First pair I bought were too tight and ripped on the first time wearing them. I liked the style so bought another pair with a 2 inch larger waist. They are still too tight and I expect the same outcome.

Who was at fault, I do not know, but the wrong size was delivered, though punctually. I have returned it and re-ordered but have therefore lost the promised Christmas discount. A bit unfair, I feel,

Hello Alan, as we discussed in our emails with yourself the confirmation email of your order was showing the correct size that we sent out for you. Bought a belt from Kilt Society. It arrived in reasonable time, and is roughly as described. I didn't realise it would have "The Kilt Society" embossed on it but this is not a big issue. However, the adjuster is velcro, and it is already beginning to come off from the belt. Luckily this doesn't yet significantly affect the function of the belt, but when it completely detaches it will make it impossible to adjust, or indeed wear, the belt. I expect that it won't be long until I have to put a few drops of glue on it to keep it working as it should, and the long term outlook is not good. This is below the quality that I would expect for the price. I will probably buy from a different supplier when I come to replace this, which is unfortunately something I'm already having to consider.

I ordered my item in November and have only just received it. Not good enough really. The item itself seems okay.

I am a first time purchaser. I belong to a Facebook group with over 13,000 members called Kilts and Culture. My collection of kilts numbers over forty. Your Persevere Tartan was recommended by a posting at K&C and I waited a long time for it to be available again. The fabric and overall workmanship are great. But, in the end, I'm sorely disappointed. Nothing will ruin an otherwise we'll made kilt than failing to center the left on the front panel. Mine is sadly skewed, and therefore unwearable. I would expect this from a cheap acrylic kilt from Pakistan.

We're really sorry to see your review and hear you're disappointed with the kilt. Our warehouse team inspects the quality of all our products before shipping these out to our customers. We do say on our website on the kilt listing that each Essentials product has been selectively sourced from expert local and international suppliers. We will happily look into this issue further for you and can arrange for a replacement kilt to be sent out to you or a refund to be processed. Hi the service and delivery was fine but the blade was bent from the handle slightly. The link on the e mail to resolve the problem didnt work. This is a wedding present for my nephew so I am quite upset, his wedding is this weekend in Sunderland and we are travelling up from Yorkshire so too late to change, quite sad!

Ordered a pair of tartan trousers. They arrived quickly, but had no paperwork, or receipt/return instructions, in the package. The quality was excellent, and the waist sizing accurate. The "seat" or "rise" of the trousers, however, were as if designed for a twelve year old. I will be contacting The Kilt Society for instructions on how to return. I rate "poor" only because of the sizing.

Hello there sorry to hear your thoughts on poor sizing. Trews are completely different to trousers or jeans - how they are made and worn (much higher on the body) so they can feel unusual when trying them for the first time. We don't include any paperwork in our orders any longer as we are aiming to be sustainable as a business as much as we can, however we do send you an email receipt and keep you up to date with your order via email. Our returns process is easily found on our website where you can find a link to a prepaid returns label. If you have any trouble finding it please drop me an email and I can send it to you. After returning with the desire to exchange was no reaction despite several inquiries. After a request via PayPal a commentless repayment was made. Disappointing !!!

I'm a little confused about your comments as we have replied to both your emails and explained that we cannot offer exchanges outside of the UK though you're welcome to order again from the website, and also let you know that we would be refunding you. Positives: Very fast, friendly service. Tartan is beautiful! Negatives (and what ruined the interaction): The kilt's pleating was not well done (this is kilt #41 and I have several friends that are kiltmakers, so I know what I'm doing). Contacted Kilt Society through FB Messenger, which they would only respond to once per day. Had to say that I didn't intend to wear the kilt for them to offer a return/refund. I had to look the policy up on their website as opposed to them providing a link. I asked the Friday past 9/8/19 if they would be willing to quality check (yes, I live in the USA) a second kilt if I ordered it as a replacement. They have not answered. I have decided to ship the kilt to a friend in British Columbia (look at a map; I live in Cleveland, Ohio and the kilt came from Edinburgh) and have him rebuild it. The tartan is proprietary to Kilted Society, so I can't reproduce it. Therefore, I'll have it remade properly AND give the other company additional business though it costs me more. Kilted Society's customer service seems geared towards facilitating orders and not towards problem solving. They are either uncertain or unable to proactively offer genuine assistance when something doesn't go well. I wish I could have liked them and used their services again, but they've failed to earn that trust.

I bought a sporran that came with a chain belt. The belt indicated on the website had a stainless loop to keep the loose end of the belt from flapping around. The one that arrived did not have this loop. I emailed to tell KS about this but all they did after I sent them a photo was to respond that they would amend the listing on their website. They apologised for the confusion that this belt didn't come with that loop and suggested I buy one from them that 'should' have the loop. That was another £18 I am not going to spend with KS. There really was no attempt to put things right, which is dissapointing.

My greatest concern was realised. The kilt is not even close to fitting me, not slightly but by a huge margin. I followed the kilt guide precisely and got myself proffesionaly measured. When the kilt arrived nothing fitted including the jacket and waist coat! Luckily I can exchange the jacket and waist coat but as the kilt is custom made they won’t let me return it!

We try to make the measuring guide simple to avoid this, but where the fit isn't great will always make steps to adjust for you. I see my colleague Hayleigh has been chatting with you by email in order to make adjustments. We don't accept custom items back for refund but will help to make these fit for you.
